    @SCROGGS!!!: My Grandparents had friends who had a Skyliner. One of my earliest car memories (I was maybe 4) is of that car. My Grandfather took me outside to see it in action. I was wonderstruck watching the top go up and back down in the driveway. After they drove off I remember my Grandfather telling my Mom and Grandmother how impractical it was, no trunk, very costly, etc. All I could think was "wow! the top lifted off and went into the trunk!"

    A Ford Model A and a Fairlane Skyliner? Sweet.

    I'm always amazed and comforted when I see vintage - and relatively pedestrian - American iron proudly displayed in a foreign country.

    Until I look around and wonder what if anything we've built in the last 20 years would deserve the same affections.
