If you absolutely gotta have food on-the-fly, then do it the proper way.

Option 1: engine cooking. It used to be more common in years past, but there are recipes out there.

Option 2: get a motorhome with a microwave and/or oven, and a generator. I've had my wife nuke me a burrito while cruising down the completely empty roads of the Yukon and northern AZ.

@so I goes to the landlady...: There is a cookbook dedicated to engine cooking. It is titled "Manifold Destiny" and is still in print.

Nothing like cooking baked potatoes on exhaust manifolds...

@Ash78: It's a plot against you. All the rest of us are having no problem but we had to handicap your performance somehow--you know, the way they put weights on horses as the racetrack.

Oooops! I don't think I was supposed to reveal that.

I wonder if you were to mount a metal tray on top of your engine, how long it would take a pizza to properly cook? Granted, I'm sure most cars built between the advent of aerodynamics and the introduction of pedestrian safety laws don't quite have enough clearance, but it still seems like the more simple (and therefore wrong) solution.

@narf: Electric isn't barbequing! No, that's when you convert your pickup to run on propane, and mount a grille at the side of the bed.
