    @snapoversteer 'bout to get told: I think new and relative to the time it was probably nice, but when you've seen the color faded and out of malaise context... guesss its all in the eye of the beholder. #raywert

    Yeah, Ray, but you forgot to mention the wild MoPar paint cost about $15 extra as an option. People could understand extra for midnight blue with flecks or pearlized white but a lot of people at the time thought they were tractor or heavy equipment colors and therefore cheap! #raywert

    Classic colors? Panther Pink.

    Modern colors? Aside from TVR's winning chameleon colors, especially purple-green, I think the Elise yellow-green is particularly searing #raywert

    My parents had a neighbor with a '69 Roadrunner convertible. It was black on Sub Lime Green. What a fabulous car that was -- approximately the same size as an aircraft carrier, it was likely visible from space.

    ...and it had a 440 and a six pack. I helped time it! #raywert

    Hooboy, the years have not been kind to Ms Lohan. Go back and see her in Mean Girls and this is a little hard to look at.

    Re: matte black...
    When a look with a meaning behind it becomes a popular fashion statement, things get tricky.

    Originally, old-skoolers went flat-black because it was cheap and you could do it yourself with halfway decent results.

    Turns out, it's actually pretty good looking on high-end cars, too.

    Who has a leg to stand on to tell someone they shouldn't paint their car in a way they think looks good?
