This is Audi's entry into the FIA GT1/2 Championships beginning next year, following the Corvette ZR1/2 and Aston Martin DB4.5, the R4 V5 is expected to be very competitive, being the only one with 2 drive wheels, and the ZR1/2 likely to face a power disadvantage as the halfsupercharger doens't function quite like half a supercharger.

When deciding which half of the car to remove, you might think about leaving the windshield in front of the driver. I'm also worried that the weight distribution has been ruined, even though power to weight is much improved. A dilemma.
This may be splitting, uh, hoods (groan), but am I the only one who's bugged by manufacturers making these half-cutaways... and then preserving their entire logos by moving them off-center?
It destroys the artistic symmetry of an otherwise brilliant exercize. And it's insulting: if you think I'm intelligent enough to appreciate and investigate an engineering cutaway, then I'm also intelligent enough to figure out what car it is and who built it.
This one even goes so far as to use a 2/3 scale grille. Really? Either cut the damn car in half the right way, or don't do it at all.

and they didn't move the logo off center. The cut is curved to carefully avoid the logo.
as for your comment about the grill, well... that new crop of weed you got must be more potent than you realize. This grill appears to be the right size.
@kaneshadow: Boo. You know what, I was thinking about this after leaving work after my comment and was going to post a redaction "upon further review", once I had the chance. But it seems in the ensuing few hours you beat me to it. So I stand corrected.
It's a subtle bit of eye trickery - the cutaway curves toward the LF wheel. The angle of the photo makes this difficult to realize at first. But yet it still lends slight credence to my original complaint: it's not entirely a 1/2 cutaway either. So what's so important about showing the whole grille then?
The AM cutaway may also be cut just off-center to preserve the logo in its natural location. But it presents an illusion of being off-center, and still looks weird to me. Maybe it's the weed.
My first (only) slot car set had a Ferrari Dino 206SP (basically a slightly smaller P3/P4 with a V6) and Porsche 906 Carrera.....and, just like in real life, the Porsche always beat the Ferrari.
But enough about that, here's some P3/P4 pron.. [farm3.static.flickr.com]"
@laylaholic: Agreed. A few too many instances of decel on a straight, and acceleration on corner entry. A couple of times, when the engine note crescendoed just past the apex, and pulled through the corner onto the straight, it was magical.
@smalleyxb122: You do realize that the "real" soundtrack is being synced up with the "live" slot cars right? I was a video editor for 8 years, and it's not easy to do this.
@Quattro-luvr:You mean the slot cars weren't making those glorious sounds?
I understand that audio from a race isn't going to sync with video of a slot car. I don't think that I was complaining. I love the few instances where the audio seemed to match.

So what's the extra caliper on that rear disc? Parking brake? Seems superfluous.
