Camilo spent a major portion of his career with Ford in Europe. He's a very cool guy, an amazing artist and a true enthusiast; all desirable traits for designers if American car manufacturers plan on surviving.

The mural at Motor City is a GT500KR, by the way. I think the one over the men's room door is an Indy Lotus/Ford but I'm not certain.

Sorry, what was the story? I was distracted by Roslyn Sanchez.

@engineerd: Few things in this world are hotter than the Ford GT. Roselyn is one of them.

@BMRFILE: I would fully agree with you. The Ford GT, while the sexiest car produced by a domestic carmaker in the last 30 years, is still just a car. The pleasure it provides only goes so far.

@engineerd: True... but even Jeremy Clarkson's defective GT was less trouble than a couple of my ex-girlfriends...

Firstly, doing an update of a classic is a very hard thing to do- after all, if you mess up one tiny thing, you're going to have everyone all over you, whereas starting from the beginning, nobody knows what to expect.

BUT, every car has a team of designers behind them- not just one guy. Sure, he may have laid out the first sketch, but there was definitely a bunch of other guys who really went through the details and such to make it a reality- and with an update, that's really the important part.

But it seems as though Ford's doing more kinetic design language (Verve, Fiesta, Taurus), which means they don't really have a need for the retro-futuristic stuff anymore.

    ok...

The Ford GT was just an updated GT40. It's NOT that complicated.

Ford US needs some of Ford UK's kinetic design language. It did the Taurus brilliantly.
