Camaro Bests Mustang In June Sales |

That being said, it feels like 1983 all over again.
The Camaro SS must be experienced.

Tempo was selling upwards of 35,000 a month for its first year on sale. From this we can turn the fucking tables on the good old General by saying this:
Ford Tempo is a better product then Chevrolet Camaro, because it sold more per month.
Am I doing it right Fritz?

Do you know how many lawns are going to need these up on blocks in a few years?
Plus, the way Ray treats them like fleshlights-
In all seriousness, how could you not want one?

Ha Ha Ha Fleshlights.....man those things aren't cheap .....not that I'd know...just saying...

I just really, really want to see GM do well, considered that that's about the only way I'll ever see my money back as a taxpayer.

but ppl really need to calm down about this. 3 years ago when this was announced, if someone had asked me if i thought it would sell well i wouldnt have thought twice about predicting it would outsell the mustang in the first few months, transformers or not
eventually, once all the fanboys have theirs, the 16 year old girls will all still be getting mustangs, not camaros, and the numbers will settle back down again.

The entire reason that V6 Mustangs have hitherto been known as "cheerleader specials" is that they were cheap and still looked cool, and offered all the same performance and economy as the F-body V6 twins for a less money.
The 5th gen Camaro changes that this time. Not only does it look cool, but it offers vastly better performance and fuel economy than the Mustang for less money. It sounds like the Camaro has a lot of potential to maintain that lead.

Based on going around to dealerships near me in SoCal, I have found that the price for a V6 Mustang equipped to a comparable spec as what the Camaro V6 offers as standard is actually anywhere from $500-$1500 more.

The Mustang has stayed on top for all these years by being inexpensive and mainstream. I think reviews like the Jalopnik comparo bode well for the Mustang because it performs quite well while being the "easiest to live with every day" (paraphrased), but individual dealers may screw it up trying to sell the V6 Mustang for similar price to the V6 Camaro... at least until the 275hp 3.7L makes it into the Mustang. We'll see.
Honestly, I'm not that worried that the Camaro will surpass the Mustang for any significant period of time, but quality competition is good for everyone, so I hope the Camaro can hang for a while. I don't have much hope for the Challenger lasting past a few years.

But, for the time being, based on what I have seen in my area, the Camaro wins...for the moment.
@bradleysoken: Martin Chevrolet didn't have any mark-ups on the V6s that they had, though they did have a $1500 markup on the two SS cars they had on the lot at the time.
