2010 Cadillac SRX: Part Two |

Everyone assumes a Cadillac is a rebadged something else. Dunno what would lead them to that by default.
It also points out how crowded the segment is. No one can believe there's yet another size/class of crossover to be jammed amongst the numerous crossover platforms GM is pushing right now.

But this is just a glorified, angular, Buick so who cares?

CTS
CTS-V
CTS Wagon
SRX
What they need:
- A proper 3-series fighter - BTS/BLS
- CTS Coupe or Converj
- Lambda/Unibody 'Slade
- A convertible...more affordable than the XLR this time...maybe a CTS/BTS convertible.
Just don't stand still, Caddy; you're well on your way.

Oh, and some real names.

So what could Cadillac bring out of the archives, namewise? Eldorado? Calais? Fleetwood? I can't think of anything that works on a trucklet.

This is actually a good explanation of the failure of communism.

@John Krewson: But, dude, the world revolves around California! Even those silly CAFE people know that!

Assuming they make 10 million cars this year, that's 1.7% of 1 car.

The only way that GM is ever going to stand a snow cone's chance in Satan's spicy burrito-filled bowels of paying back any of the money that "loaned" to them is to sell cars.
There is, in fact, a certain logic to it.

It's the Cadillac of cross-overs!

1. Detract from the CTS wagon's inherent capabilities? No.
2. Cannibalize the CTS wagon's marketspace within 2-3 years? Most likely.
Summary: CTS wagon, get 'em while they're hot.
I really feel that, in order for wagons to gain more traction here (apart from CAFE), manufacturers need to offer them without a reasonable substitute.

Instead, the next time a relative or co-worker says they're about to buy a crossover SUV (if you've allowed a friend or immediate family member to buy one you've failed) call them an ignorant slut and educate them about the superiority of a wagon. And if it's a Mercedes GLK or X3 they're planning to buy, slap them upside the head a few times as well.

CTS-V would be better... if they released the body to match the current gen...
Otherwise.. its a just doesnt work.
And somehow.. 400hp from a Caddy.. just doesnt strike me.
