Nice review, Ben, and superb photography.

The dead-tree guys would kill for a setup like that. Of course, they'd probably just pay to have a factory burned just to get the shot.
I'll probably recommend this to anyone in the segment. Although there's nothing subtle about the giant Art & Science shield on that front end.
Hopefully Caddy's dealers won't drop the ball.

You hit the nail on the head when you said the CTS Wagon gives Caddy room to make this SRX a better RX350 fighter. The SRX is still the enthusiast's crossover, but being less of a tall wagon will make it appeal to more traditional crossover buyers. And for folks like me who loved the old SRX because it was basically a hot rod station wagon, there's CTS Wagon.

It'll always be short one pedal, though.

That is a Camaro 3.6 mil in there.....so I'm guessing the go-fast parts will be coming along soon.
A CTSWV would be awesome, but the market is tiny. Maybe not HHR-SS Panel wagon tiny, but small.

Maybe get back to the COPO setup. Lots of non-stocked items that are available by special order. I think there are enough people out there that'd pay a $3k "special order fee" to get the exact set of parts they'd want. (Case in point: Manual-trans CTS wagon, V-or otherwise)
I know EPA/CAFE certs and crash-tests are a pain, but if Honda can offer a stickshift Accord, GM can offer sticks on actually sporty cars.

I hate to bust ya bubble..
But how GM got here.. is offering too many options on one vehicle.
COPO is one thing.. for its time..
But stuffing a top heavy car frame based jacked sedan with a hatch.. with a stick and performance parts..
That just wont happen.
And the way Honda can offer a stick on the Accord, is because they can SELL the coupe along-side the Sedan. and keep them going together.
As for as sticks go..
Porsche is doing away with it.
So is maserati, BMW, M-B.. Lambo and an other sporting automaker.. who thinks the have the eye on the pulse of their customer.
Sticks.. are going the way of the do-do bird. Just like how wagons are being singled out and removed by their own competitive and more abundant SUVS / CUVS.

Can't wait for the headlight unit-almost-touching-the-windshield design era to end.

Maybe its supposed to resemble a face lift, you know, like a rich soccer mom.

Okay Ben, I'm confused by this line. In parts one and two, you seemed to be very positive about the quality of the cars that you drove.
Did you change your mind?

I retract my comment and go to work on my reading skills.
