    Reading Comprehension 101:

According to the Madle website, it was King Fahd's hinie that couldn't touch leather, leading the Stutz to be re-done. Otherwise, a fascinating article about an equally fascinating car - makes a Mercedes 600 Pullman look like a Checker cab.

@tonyola: Yeah, I saw that-but then there were other sites which had it the other way around, with Bongo's ass to be kept away from leather. I guess it wouldn't pass The New Yorker's factcheckers.

It's a wonder that thing hasn't just snapped in the middle.

I imagine the creel and yaw and general wallow forces make this a Queasi-mobile.

Wonder what it's quarter-mile time is?

Nice car, great article! Somehow, the over the top styling of Stutz works when stretched.

I guess seatbelts are against Gabonese law as well. First rule of driving Bongo's Stutz: No sudden stops.

Looks like something Mr. Kananga would drive in the movie, Live and Let Die. Bongo kind of looks like Kananga.

What's mind boggling to me is that the designer responsable for this also worked on the prototype that let to the Citroën CX, one of the most beautiful cars of all times.

I think you're US based but if you're interested, here in France (in my hometown down south), I know a guy that's got a very clean '85 CX 25 GTi for sale. 60000 km, 2500 Euros. I'd buy it if my banker allowed it.

These articles are officially the best ever. I get to reading all of the side links off to Wikipedia and to other older articles on Jalopnik.
