One of the things I like most about the new 2015 Mercedes-AMG C63 (née C63 AMG) is that it turned out to be kind of a sleeper compared to its competition. It lets its 503 horsepower, twin-turbo V8 do the talking. But if you want a little more show for all that go, pick up the Edition 1 is for you.
There's a new Mercedes-Benz C-Class out, and the best part of that news is that the mad scientists at AMG are also cooking up their own version. Here it is testing on the Nürburgring, in both sedan and wagon form. Yay! Wagon form!
This, ladies and gentlemen, is what 443 pound-feet of torque looks like when you shove it through the rear wheels. Like speed and noise and smoke. Like a new pope was just elected out of the trunk. Like power.
They also had a special lemon flavored cola coming straight from a company based in Stuttgart. No place for outsiders at Mercedes-Benz.
AMG came a long way from building racecar engines in the sixties to making our Editor-in-Chief write about their newest child with the caps lock on. Their cars are just that good.

Two common Mercedes C63 AMG complaints are: The lack of grip and understated appearance. The RENNtech C74 "Konzept" fixes both problems with a wide-as-Jennifer Lopez rear track and a widebody aero kit that makes the U.S.S. Enterprise look inconspicuous.
For the super-limited-edition Mercedes-Benz C-Class DR 520, Stuttgart started with a C63 AMG, added 60 horses, the AMG Performance Pack Plus, and matte black or white vinyl wrap. Zero to 62 mph in 4.1 seconds. Win.
Miami Cops have unmarked Altimas and laser guns. The RENNtech AMG C63 SPEC.R has a top speed of 187 MPH and luckily, sports a custom rear-view mirror-embedded radar/laser-detecting and jamming system. I used it, often.
The horsepower brokers over at RENNtech have turned their wrenches to the already powerful Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG to create what they consider to be a fitting heir to the Mercedes 6.3, appropriate given the name and the fact that latest C-Class has grown nearly to the size of that ultimate sedan.
