We already know the look isn't any production trim level Chevy will be offering on the new Chevy Camaro, and thank goodness because it's certainly "special" looking. And — umm — that's really all there is to say about that. If you're interested, Transformers Live has some more galleries of some of the other vehicles (Optimus Prime, Ratchet and Ironhide) over there.

<![CDATA[ Shia LaBeouf's Passenger During Alleged DUI-Related Accident Was Transformers 2 Co-Star Isabel Lucas ]]> Isabel-Lucas.jpgThe name of the passenger in Shia LeBeouf's alleged DUI accident in LA this weekend wasn't initially released: Turns out it was Transformers 2 co-star and Aussie hottie Isabel Lucas. If you happen to be Shia "The Beef," and find yourself inexplicably famous after last summer's Transformers movie and this summer's horrible crap-fest Indiana Jones flick, you'd be aiming high on the lady ladder too. Oh Beef, you know Megan Fox is going to be all jealous now, stewing on the set of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. She'll probably throw herself at you, even though you never had a chance with Isabel. You sly, sly fox. [TFW2005]

<![CDATA[ Transformers Star Shia LaBeouf Busted For DUI After Early Morning Accident ]]> TMZ's reporting Transformers star Shia LaBeouf faces misdemeanor DUI charges after he allegedly made an unsuccessful left turn in front of another car this morning at the corner of La Brea and Fountain in Hollywood. The Ford F-150 he was driving flipped with such force Spike Witwicky's real life counterpart sustained an injury to his left hand that required him to have minor surgery. An unidentified female riding with him and the male driver of the other car sustained minor injuries. Oh, if only he'd been driving Bumblebee, he'd have been able to take over the wheel from young Shia. Wait, why wasn't Shia's trusty Camaro driving the young lad?

As you can see from the photos below taken by the Transformers fan-boys of TFW2005, Bumblebee was busy this weekend in San Diego at the Comic-Con. Oh, Prime's gonna be SO pissed!

<![CDATA[ Transformers "Corvette Concept," "Z28" Bumblebee Get A Close-Up ]]> Last time we saw it from afar, but now we've got the first close-up shot of what we're now told is a Corvette concept shot on the set of the new Transformers 2 movie, Revenge of the Fallen. The latest shot, posted to the Motown Muscle forum, comes with some degree of reliability given it comes with two new shots of the "Bumblebee" version of the 2010 Chevy Camaro Z28. That's right, our e-mail tipster, who also posted the shots on the forum, claims not only that this is a 2010 (or 2012) Corvette concept, but also that this isn't the "SS" Camaro, it's the Z28. Whether this mean we'd not only get a "Super Sport" package, but also a "special performance package" via a Z28 check box remains to be seen. UPDATE: We've also been told it may just be a package we can order from the folks at Saleen. But, we digress — if we're to believe the poster, both vehicles are getting some sort of paint treatment as part of work they're undergoing at the hands of Chip Foose. How the producers of the new Transformers 2 movie got Foose to step away from his work on "Foosical: The Musical" we'll never know. Hit the jump for the Camaro shots and some of our own speculation.

2010-Chevy-Camaro-Z28-front.jpg
2010-Chevy-Camaro-Z28-rear.jpg

So we're starting to think GM's decided the auto show scene isn't where they're going to capture the next generation of car lovers. Instead, they're decided — why not take the show to the people by way of the silver screen?

Other than the Detroit show, how many other shows really draw the attention of the mainstream international media? So it kind of makes sense with the shows becoming places over-crowded with product and variant reveals and under-crowded with mass media. Why not reveal a concept for the first time at a place like the Detroit Auto Show — then reveal it a few months later for the "rest of the world" on the big screen. Sure, we're speculating here — but the idea itself may actually make some sense. Of course, this could just be some really evil Decepticon — but why sully the American Revolution by making a bad guy a Chevy concept? Just sayin'...

UPDATE 2: That front end really has a very distinctly distended fourth-gen Camaro vibe to it...old Camaro concept perhaps? Does Bumblebee go bad for a short time in the movie? Just some more speculation on my part.

<![CDATA[ Surprise! Chevy Trax Shows Up On Set Of Transformers 2 ]]>

We thought we had all the new vehicles already figured out for Michael Bay's next GM-gasm — Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Turns out there are still a few secrets to suss out as a Chevy Trax was spotted running chest to chest with the Chevy Beat moments after the the Bumblebee/Chevy Trax chase shot we saw earlier. Obviously we have no idea which robo-character this little fella will be playing — hey, maybe all the minicars will join together to form Voltron, and we'll have a crazy giant fighting robot crossover movie! The hotted up 2010 Chevy Camaro SS version of Bumblebee was snapped either running from, or leading whatever 'bot the Chevy Beat will be playing on the set of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen today in Philadelphia. Hopefully they don't run into the NYC 2009 Renault Laguna Coupe, because we're pretty sure the Renault would be a Decepticon, and nobody wants to see giant transforming robots fight. Oh wait. <![CDATA[ Bumblebee, Shia LaBeouf Spotted Cheating on Megan Fox on Transformers 2 Set ]]> Flickr photographer Zacklur got a shock a couple of days ago when he woke up to find Michael Bay filming a scene from Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen outside his bedroom window. An even bigger surprise was seeing Isabel Lucas (of Home and Away fame) riding in the passenger seat of the 2010 Chevy Camaro SS instead of Megan Fox.

According to Zacklur, the scene being filmed showed the yellow Camaro spinning out shortly before Isabel gets covered with "green goo," then storms off. Could this be Bumblebee trying to tell Shia something?

In addition to the side shot we saw yesterday, this new shot gives us some full frontal muscle car action via a much improved look at Bumblebee's newish nose — which may very well be actual SS styling. And since he doesn't have the requisite cash for it, one of you out there may have the ducats necessary to purchase the actual yellow-and-black 1977 Camaro that played the old school Bumblebee from the film. <![CDATA[ Help Jalopnik Decide What To Wear: Autobot Or Decepticon? ]]> Ladies and gentlemen, it's now robogasm time. This evening we'll be heading on over to a special preview screening of the new live-action Transformers movie with other auto writers — and even a couple of movie critics. Critics are interested? Who knew. But now we've got an interesting problem to deal with. You see, although we were disappointed to find there's no costume shop in town with an Optimus Prime costume, we were able to come up with a couple of options for attire thanks to our gadget-obsessed brother site. But here's the deal — you know how some days you feel like a nut, and some days you don't? Well — we're kinda having the same problem — except some days we feel like a Mustang-loving Decepticon and some days we feel like a Chevy-embracing Autobot. Thus, here's the question — which do we go as tonight? You decide! Oh and yes, the Autobot shirt lights up — so I may end up wearing that one just because.

Seeing as I'm the only editor here with a game system that doesn't have the words "Famicom" or "TurboGrafx" in the name, I'm the most qualified one of us to give you the first-hand look at the new Transformers video game. Oh, and wait, since it's Transformers, I guess that makes me doubly qualified, doesn't it? Well, we got our hands on the first trailer for the game from the boys n' girls at IGN.com, and it's rife with all sorts of bot-on-bot action, including a Bumblebee vs. Barricade battle royale, the first look at a transformation of the king of the bots of auto, Optimus Prime, and all of it's got a great Peter Cullen voiceover. We've done up some screen caps for this game (which may only be available for the PS3) below for anyone who's unable to see the prettiness of the trailer in the full above.

The Transformers loving kids over at our favorite hangout for all things robots in disguise is live from New York City's Javits Center, home this week to the annual ToyFair show. This year it would seem it should be renamed something like "BotFair" or "TransFair" or something similar as the big news appears to be something we've been covering over here for quite a bit now, the upcoming Transformers live-action movie. The kiddies at TFW2005 have put together some galleries of what's cooking over on 11th Avenue. And in addition to what appears to be some amazing shots of the Camaro concept-transforming Autobot known as Bumblebee and his big boss truck, Optimus Prime, we've also now got Hasbro's official pictures of the toys — all ready in a gallery below to sate your fan-boy cravings. And if you've even got to ask why we're so excited, just take a stroll down the memory lane of our past posts here.

<![CDATA[ Transformers Toys For Tots: Slot Cars And An Old And Busted Camaro Named Bumblebee ]]>

No, not our commenter — the Autobot named Bumblebee. Our fave fan site all about the 'formers hipped us to new pictures of a transformed 70's Camaro version of the yellow-n-black bot. I'm not yet thrilled as it's not the new concept Camaro version from later in the movie and we're actually curious as to where the rest of the car went post-transformation. But despite my lack of exuberance over this toy, there's some other news from TFW2005 that makes up for it. Unfortunately, it's only for olks over in the UK. We've heard they should be expecting to see:

"a Transformers Movie slot car racing set! UK slot car manufacturing company, Scalextric, is set to launch this product in June...the set will feature Transformers Bumblebee and Decepticon Barricade from the new movie and allow you to transform the cars to reveal the robots. Out early in June and costing 40, Scalextric is hoping to storm kids and adults bedrooms in time for the July 4 film release."
That means we'll finally be able to have a race between a Saleen Camaro and a Saleen Mustang. Oh joy of joys! Now if we can just drop a "Saleen" Challenger into the mix, we'll have ourselves some real muscle car wars...at 1:64 scale. But whatevs, beggars can't be choosers. Check out the full Bumblebee toy gallery below, and keep your eyes on our Transformers tag and gallery for any up-to-the-minute news on the new movie as we hear it.

Although we've heard the General was late to the game of connecting its products to the new Transformers movie, as you can see from the above screen cap we've taken of the trailer from the live-action Transformers movie, they've certainly popped right in faster than a headmaster's crappy little action figure head. Because although the US trailer site's not yet live — the UK site is, so hop over across the pond to get a piece of the robot goodness before your friends who aren't reading us see it later this afternoon. Also, feel free to peruse the screen caps we've pulled from the trailer's transforming goodness below. <![CDATA[ Exclusive Transformers Movie Pictures: Teletran-1 Needs To Explore For Ratchet, Bumblebee And Brawl! ]]>
The way the story of the Generation 1 Transformers goes — way back in episode numero uno — the Autobots went-a-searchin' for some energy ito beat the evil Decepticons. After the Autobot's ship, the Ark, was attacked by the Decepticons — it crash landed on Earth where it was buried under a dormant volcano for a few million years until it went active — waking Teletran-1, the Ark's explorin' and repairin' computer system. Teletran-1 got the lay of the land and brought back schematics to bring back to life the earth-bound bots, with the disguise of present-day vehicles and stuff. So we're starting to get the idea that maybe that's the direction Bay's going for the live-action movie. These set pictures are the reason why — we've got ourselves an old-school Chevy Camaro above that'd be a perfect template for the new hotness GM Camaro concept that becomes Bumblebee, and then a click through the jump'll show you a Red Cross Humvee that'd be perfect for Ratchet and a tank that'd make a perfect Decpeticon Brawl.

We've also got another shot of the Camaro-rockin' Bumblebee fully transformed, as well as another picture of Prime as a long-nosed Semi and finally what looks to be "Team Autobot" — the Black GMC TopKick (Ironhide), the modified H2 (Ratchet) and the Camaro concept (Bumblebee) all surrounding a ready-to-roll-out long-nosed Semi (Optimus Prime). Looks like a fanboy circle-jerk to us! But wait-wait, there's more — click the jump to find out the names of all the Autobots and Decepticons appearing in the movie from an online chat with the producers held this AM. So our boy Hue Hughes totally has the inside line on all things Transformers — and he's snagged us some shots purported to be CG tests of the main man himself, Optimus Prime. In addition, there's also a pic of our Camaro buddy Bumblebee, and his brawny brother Brawl. Click through the jump to check out the pics in all their gallery glory.
