Could this be the Sasquatch we're all waiting for at next month's Geneva Motor Show?

A Toyota Venza-style crossover built onto the chassis of a BMW 5-series, the PAS concept previews the sadly inevitable BMW Progressive Activity Sedan.

As we can see from this picture, and as indicated in the dumb BMW PAS Concept Video, this is BMW's attempt to pack a sedan, an SUV and a Crossover into the same vehicle, thus removing even the notion of a unique selling point and completely destroying what little was left of this former enthusiast's passion for the brand.

We expect the PAS Concept to be a little more dynamic than the totally successful Mercedes Farce Minivan Mercedes R-Class, but the prize for BMW is a continued dilution of brand enjoyment.

<![CDATA[VIDEO: 2010 BMW X1 Drifts Through The Snow]]> The 2010 BMW X1 mini-crossover-suv-urban-activity-wagon is an inevitability with the release of this official "spy" video ahead of the expected reveal at the Geneva Motor Show.

As BMW insists on segmenting its product lineup, the X1, based off the BMW X1 concept, is the latest in their assault on reason, slotted somewhere between a 3-series wagon, the BMW X3 and heck, let's just throw the X6 in as well. Then there's the BMW Progressive Activity Vehicle concept on the way, so who knows where all these fat-bottomed "Ultimate driving machines" end up.

Anyway, the X1 is expected to debut at the pending 2009 Geneva Motor Show with a version of the xDrive all-wheel-drive system, gadget-ridden center consoles and a 3.0-liter straight-six from the 128i. We're also hearing about a possible four cylinder rumored under development. [BMW via World Car Fans]

<![CDATA[BMW X1 Teaser Can't Afford Good Lighting]]> While not as titillating as skateboarding graffiti artists hyping the BMW X1 "concept," today we have a teaser image of the SUV-let. The shot, taken at a studio apparently hit by hard times and unable to afford proper lighting, doesn't reveal a whole lot, but hit the jump to see a version of the teaser we've upped the contrast on.

Our p-shop skills managed to eke out a bit more detail, but aside from the flowery wheels and shorter wheelbase, it looks pretty much like an X5. Surprise! So for the eleven of you out there looking for yet another compact SUV with a high price tag, undoubtedly terrible fuel economy and a bourgeoisie attitude, today is your day in the sun. Expect to see the BMW X1, sans teasers and marketing-hyped camouflage at the upcoming Paris Motor Show later this week. [BMW via 4WheelsNews]

<![CDATA[2010 BMW V5, Because Minivans Make Too Much Sense]]> It's been a while since we last saw the 2010 BMW V5, but if these new shots acquired by Autogespot are any indication, it looks like the the crossover based on the next-generation BMW 5-Series is still on course for production. To most people, the V5 is simply a blob on four wheels, but BMW insists that this is a "Progressive Activity Sedan." And what is that, really?

Jalopnik Snap Judgment: With 5-Series underpinnings, both RWD and AWD versions are possible. We just hope more emphasis will be put on practicality than pseudo off-road capability (think Mercedes R-Class more than BMW X6). Despite the extra interior space, the V5 will likely be just another Euro-snob barge for people that should really just buy (dare we say it) a minivan.
