Dream Factory Blow Papa Rider

The other day we showed you some cute little Japanese Kei cars converted to look like vintage American vans. Turns out they were the creation of a company called Dream Factory Blow. They're sort of an American-style surfing-obsessed customizing shop, but since they're in Japan, they work their magic on JDM rides. While stumbling around their non-English website, we found this thing. Apparently, they call it the Papa Rider, but it may not be what you initially think it is.

Hoon Of The Day: How Many Licks To Get This Toyota To Blow Up?

Today's hoons are following in the grand tradition established by Top Gear of trying to destroy Toyota trucks. Unfortunately, we don't have anything quite as cool as a Toyota Hilux to mangle. As with the Hilux, it takes a serious amount of full-throttle reverse action to put the hurt on this already well-worn Toyota pickup. From the always have a fire extinguisher around department comes this Subaru mill being sacrificed to the oil change gods. We're not sure if this is an educational video showing why not to run an engine with no oil in the crankcase, or was produced solely for entertainment purposes. Either way the Subaru engine fights hard before it breathes its last.

Chrysler Execs to Sebring, Nitro: Drop Dead

Apparently, the Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Nitro are such crap, even Chrysler executives can't muster the requisite team spirit to defend them. Well, maybe not crap, per se. How about "embarrassing misses." And let's face it, these two are indeed the most embarrassing misses since Betty Ford (you'll get that joke later). Those and other descriptors turned up on an Internet Q&A among Chrysler employees who feel the company turned out two losers that are behind competitors on nearly all major categories, from design to drivetrain to fuel economy to noise and vibration. According to the online convo, the company hit a competitive target that underestimated where competitors would be when the cars were released. Yoinks. More »
