This can only mean filming of Michael Bay's next masterpiece is underway or getting pretty damn close. We can already hear Wert's robogasms from here.

The latest word is the script is still in development with filming to start in June, and really, why worry about something as silly as a script when there's giant freakin' robots to blow stuff up. But as we saw earlier this month, Bay is pretty excited about the sequel, so we wouldn't be surprised if things were already starting to get underway.

Now the questions start to fly: why would there be two Barricades? One would think that multiples would be needed for the filming process, but the little kid in us believes Barricade multiplies and fights as twins, or, you know, Ford's bringing out their new Barricade special edition Saleen 'stang. Nah. [FilmSchoolRejects]

<![CDATA[ Transformers Mustang Cop Car Replica Not Police Approved ]]> A man by the name of Jesse Vigil has decked out a 2007 Mustang to look like Barricade the Saleen Mustang from Transformers and not surprisingly, the local cops don't approve. Much to the delight of Transformers fans everywhere, including Vigil's son and the inspiration for the mod, the cops can't do a damn thing as long as Vigil isn't impersonating the police.

Despite not being a Saleen, the car is a fairly solid replica. It include the slogan "To punish and enslave and more. It does also include a non-functional siren bar. The police shouldn't bust Vigil's chops too much. He did the replica for his son after returning from Iraq. It should be illegal to bust the chops of somebody with those credentials. <![CDATA[ And Speaking Of Transformers...The Saleen Display Appears To Be Hiding A Decepticon ]]> Over in Birmingham, across from the GM-obsessive "Triangle," the Saleen display appears to be hiding a very, very naughty Mustang. Not to cast aspersions on an auto custom shop, but Barricade's one bad Saleen. Luckily, we didn't piss him off as badly as we pissed off Ironhide yesterday.

<![CDATA[ Help Jalopnik Decide What To Wear: Autobot Or Decepticon? ]]> Ladies and gentlemen, it's now robogasm time. This evening we'll be heading on over to a special preview screening of the new live-action Transformers movie with other auto writers — and even a couple of movie critics. Critics are interested? Who knew. But now we've got an interesting problem to deal with. You see, although we were disappointed to find there's no costume shop in town with an Optimus Prime costume, we were able to come up with a couple of options for attire thanks to our gadget-obsessed brother site. But here's the deal — you know how some days you feel like a nut, and some days you don't? Well — we're kinda having the same problem — except some days we feel like a Mustang-loving Decepticon and some days we feel like a Chevy-embracing Autobot. Thus, here's the question — which do we go as tonight? You decide! Oh and yes, the Autobot shirt lights up — so I may end up wearing that one just because.

<![CDATA[ Transformers Movie Update: Video Game First-Look ]]>

Seeing as I'm the only editor here with a game system that doesn't have the words "Famicom" or "TurboGrafx" in the name, I'm the most qualified one of us to give you the first-hand look at the new Transformers video game. Oh, and wait, since it's Transformers, I guess that makes me doubly qualified, doesn't it? Well, we got our hands on the first trailer for the game from the boys n' girls at IGN.com, and it's rife with all sorts of bot-on-bot action, including a Bumblebee vs. Barricade battle royale, the first look at a transformation of the king of the bots of auto, Optimus Prime, and all of it's got a great Peter Cullen voiceover. We've done up some screen caps for this game (which may only be available for the PS3) below for anyone who's unable to see the prettiness of the trailer in the full above.

<![CDATA[ Transformers Toys For Tots: Barricade, Brawl, Jazz And...Wreckage? ]]>

Well, it's Friday and we're feeling a bit of a hankering for some Transformers action, and our fave fan-boy site on all things 'formers is all about the toys today, scoring not only pictures of the Pontiac Solstice-bodied Jazz, the Saleen Mustang-bodied Barricade and the Abrams Battle Tank-bodied Brawl — but also some pics of a not-yet-seen and until-now not-yet-named Decepticon by the name of Wreckage. Wreck-Gar? No — Wreckage. We've no idea what he is — although he does appear to be some kind of military vehicle like an armored personnel vehicel. We've also no idea what his role in the movie will be, but hey — good find on TFW2005's part. But that's not all we've got. We also managed to snag some clear-as-daylight PR pictures of the toy version of the Decepticon baddie known as Blackout in all of his MH-53 Pave Low blade-filled glory. The Transformers in a box gallery, sans Adam Sandberg and Justin Timberlake is first and the Blackout gallery is below that. And with that, our craving for Transformers tchotchkes has been satisfied for the moment. But if yours isn't, feel free to check out or tag page and our gallery for more to get your fix.

<![CDATA[ Exclusive Transformers Movie Update: So That's What A Robot Mustang Would Look Like ]]> barricade-robot.jpgYes, it's been somewhat of an exhausting week around these parts on the Transformers scene, and today's a day no different than the rest. The image we've cropped above is supposedly of Barricade — the evil Decepticon in the new live-action Transformers movie who's alt-mode is that Saleen Mustang police car we've already shown you. In the here and now however, we're told that we've got ourselves a CGI of the robot form for the 5-0 'stang — and boy, does he look like a meanie. Check out the full image in all of it's 700 pixel glory via the link below — conveniently in wallpaper-ready format (for 12" screens, but whatevs). Also remember to check out our all of our coverage of the new movie via the tag we've conveniently set up, or if you just want to look at the pretty pictures, there's always our Transformers gallery if you want to see all that director Michael Bay wishes you not to see.
