Several years ago, I used to read AutoSpies, Autoblog & Jalopnik articles only. One day, while killing time, I read some of Jalopnik's comments and enjoyed the sense of humor and knowledge these guys have. After being a spectator for about a year, there was a post about the Ford GT. I signed up immediately, and I'm still here.
No more Autospies, but I do peruse Autoblog on occasion.
You know, they should be glad someone cared enough to bootleg it. It's not as though the guys were stealing state secrets or super secret engine tweaks.
It's only geeks like us, and only some us at that, who even care--99% of humans don't.
And it's an ugly, angular and completely un-sexy example of the ersatz Acura Design Language anyway. I am somewhat unsympathetic. Every shark is going to have to have a remora or two swimming about, picking at scraps. Someone up in NYC needs to relax. Oh... I see the problem right there. Never mind.
You don't frighten us, AutoSpies pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, you sons of a silly person. I blow my nose at you, so-called "Auto Bloggers," you and all your silly AutoSpies K-n-agents.
@Tiberiuswise - now with 20% more sarcasm.: I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper. I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries.

I can hear that telephone call now. "Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Buffamanti? This is detective Don Brodka from NY Auto Show security. That's right, Don Brodka. Your son Don has been caught photographing Acuras. Uh huh. Yeah, it's a shame, I know, but... well, try and have a happy Easter."
@aSoundofSleep is drinking and Jaloping: I thought it was funny that Jalop's main pic of the new Acura featured the VW logo right above it, in the background.
Maybe it's a rebadged Dodge Journey...zee people vant Japanees engineering.
@rlj676-Carbon Footprint Size - Clownshoe: The OCD is strong over there. They're well into the hundreds on the "Death Watch" series, which I believe has been expanded to include every single manufacturer except BMW.
I'm not surprised, this is pretty much how they operate.
They've trolled the web looking for "breaking automotive news", stealing it and passing it off as their own. Why are they being allowed to troll a car show with a digital camera in hand?
Note To Acura: If you don't want anyone taking pics of your super-duper new car, keep the thing covered up!
@Ash78: So when you were in school, did all the kids around you fail/get detention because they burst out laughing at stuff you muttered just loud enough for them to hear it?
I understand getting slapped around for violating an embargo of official pictures, but posting a picture that someone else took - a picture that, no doubt, is posted at least 100 other places on the web at this point, does not violate an embargo in my opinion.
This is the same heavy-handed reaction that has led to fear among journalists of all sorts who get information that is valid and that the public is interested in, but that they won't post because they're afraid they'll get removed from all the press lists that these companies keep. What if Chevy hadn't invited Jalopnik for a test ride in the Camaro because you guys posted pictures of the Blue Devil so long ago? Or what if they'd just tried to ban you from the NY Auto Show completely? That's essentially what Honda is doung here.

@Mike the Dog: well, unless there's exif data to disprove it, I guess I'm inclined to believe them. I'm just sick of this embargo stuff and how it's affecting coverage - I feel like I can't really trust any site anymore to have a truly independent perspective.
@weatherman: Even if the pictures were "submitted by a reader", as they contend, they still signed an agreement to honor the manufacturers' embargoes as a condition of getting access to the show floor before the public opening. They tried to skirt that agreement on a bullshit technicality, and they got spanked for it. In other words, they knew (or should have known, assuming their legal advisers have a pulse and a valid law license) that they were risking repercussions by breaking the embargo and they did it anyway. I wish them luck in getting press passes for any other auto shows in the near future.

Don't give them any coverage at all, until they issue a formal apology.
