    This is much like the OS market. We are driving Vistas and XPs, and there's the Mac OSX on the market. Mac OSX is more stable and all, from what I hear, but damn, is Windows more fun. Toyotas are reliable and all, but damn, are Jaguars more fun.

    Maybe it's just that being with another person in your vehicle that is something Americans can't accept? Europe certainly are doing fine in this respect, plenty of people using buses and the Tube.

    Sorry, I had this idea already. It's called "Friend". The "Friend" sits in the front and controls the vehicle. Then you tell the "Friend" exactly where you want to go and they do it. Then, you are free to sit in any free seat in the vehicle and open up your 36 can case of whatever cheap beer you can afford.

    @Z71: I was trying for something similar with the "Girlfriend." Unfortuantly, mine needs an upgrade to properly interface with my car's transmission and clutch pedal.

    @JSmith53: You should try the local guys' stuff, Good People Snakehandler Double IPA...super hoppy and ~9% ABV. Delicious.


    Once these guys start bottling, Birmingham is going to be famous for beer. Right now it's only in kegs or 1/2-gallon growlers.

    @TV's Paul Y.: @Alphamazing: If you ever get a chance to try it, be sure to check the expiration date. The beer has a 3-month shelf life, and you really want it within the first month. It goes from amazing to "just ok" pretty quickly. Very fresh hops. Smell almost like carbonated grapefruit juice!


    There's a LOT of stuff we don't get here in AL, since the 6% ABV cap was just lifted a couple months ago. We also have a container size limit, so a lot of companies that use 22oz bottles can't even sell here. But lots of good stuff is trickling in.

    @Ash78: I've heard of those guys, but unfortunately have not yet been able to try their stuff. I've moved to Raleigh in the past year and have been missing Sweet Home Alabama since! Good People was just starting to set up shop when I left.

    Yes, that's what I want. A car that cannot be controlled by the owner, no view directly ahead so I can tell when the freshly uploaded virus is going to send me over a cliff, and styling fresh from the 60s.


    Google keeps popping up little ads, asking if I want to get Google Toolbar, or upgrade to Chrome or whatever. No, I don't want that. Will this car pull over and ask me if I want to switch to Firestones, or give me myriad options to choose assorted cheap blowjob hookers when I tell it to go to my girlfriend's house? Sorry, Google - stick to what you know.
