Mr. Penske, don't be afraid to bring this to the US. We'd welcome it, expecially the VXR/OPC version.

"New Vauxhall Astra Interior is Definitely Not Saturn-like" should be the Obvious Statement of the Day (OSD). Of course it isn't Saturn-like. The steering wheel's on the wrong side.

It looks like the kind of interior that a man who drinks Heineken, only buys Apple and listens to loud techno would appreciate.

@stinkycatfish: It does look good at first glance, but then you do notice just HOW MANY freakin buttons and knobs there are. It's insane.

Why do we need all this equipment? I swear most people who buy one of these will use it like they use 99% of all their other technology. They will use 5% of the features it comes with and never ever use the rest.

Features I need on a car interior include: steering wheel, 3 pedal arrangement, 4 seats, temp controls, manual transmission, wipers, lights, instrument cluster, cd player, radio, volume adjustment and an e-brake. And maaaaaybe buttons on the steering for volume control, if only for safety. The end.

Are these things out for sale in North America yet? I ask because while I was out for a Sunday drive a bit north of Atlanta this past weekend something that looked remarkably like the Evora passed me going the other way on a nice windy back road. It also turns out that my e-brake needs a bit of adjustment...

They are not yet available. I think 2010 some time. It's possible you did see one as the US outpost of Lotus is in the Atlanta area.

Car looks great in red, btw. Which is the color of the one they had on hand.

It is a nice chick car and they'll probably sell a ton of these to the right women.

Do American manufacturers tailor cars for these women these days. The only thing I can think of at the moment is that little GM convertible.

A plush Lotus that still tries to be fairly spartan and lightweight but can, in a pinch, fit an extra couple people. Why wouldn't you?

Good luck fitting anything other than legless midgets back there. It seems to be more for insurance purposes than anything else.

@pauljones: Seatbelts for the padded parcel shelf FTW! My V12 XJS is less costly to insure than my Iron Duke equipped Fiero.

I'm sure the gap would swing the other way if I carried full coverage on them, since the Jaguar would be more costly to repair, but for some reason, the insurance company thinks that a 90 hp, 2500lb Pontiac is more of a liability than a 285 hp, 3800lb Jaguar.

You know, this makes two Saturns I'd actually consider buying (if it comes here).

The Astra is far and above one of the nicest hatchbacks on the road in the US, but its too pricey.

If this thing makes 300hp and gets AWD, I'd look into it.
