    Sweet jeebus, I see the A5 around town and it's about the best looking car out there right now. This is what the 5 series should have become. Understated and a beautiful.

    @SirNotAppearing: The 5-series is a 4-door sedan/wagon and the A5 is a midsize 2+2 coupe, so I'm not sure I follow you. Unless you meant 6-series...


    I agree it's very nice-looking. Oddly, they seem to have gotten pretty common around here. I still lust after the Audi wagons a lot more than anything else. If they made a 2-door shooting brake from the A5, I think I'd be sold.

    @Ash78: Yes it has two less doors, but I think the design achieves what the E39 did before. The design suggests the power and sportiness that is there, but it is subtle.

    @SirNotAppearing: Ahh, I see what you mean. I'm also impressed the way they were able to pull off that double-kinked s-curve on the main bodyline without making it look like a Kia or something. It's well done.

    Right now BMW & VW/Audi are making some fine diesel engines. Although not too popular with Jalop's. I'd still say the BMW's are slightly better & more of a drivers car.

    @layabout: I dunno, maybe it's my VW/Audi bias, but I've always seen a lot of admiration for those engines. I think BMW is always going to be "slightly better", the only problem is they wrap the engines in such unpretty cars.

    @Deartháir: Yeah,you're right. VW/Audi have a great line up of cars at the moment,personally i don't think the Scirocco was needed,but it will still sell well. And to top it off their image & desirability is above that of Mercedes & BMW which is some achievement.

    @layabout: Yea, played around in the TTS last night and... YES! I'm so impressed with the transition they undertook to make it more Dude friendly, first gen TT was sooooooooooo much a girl car, the TTS GODDAMN!

    @Andrewpetty: While I like the numbers, I can't agree with you on the "looks better" part. I have a previous generation C-class, and think the new ones are a step backwards. The new Audis make me glad I didn't buy a previous-gen Audi instead, because I'd be seething with jealousy.

    @om nom de plume: I think the new Audi S4 is gonna be a 3.0 liter supercharged number. I'm going to have a good choice of which car to buy this year, even if GM douches out and fails to get the G8 GXP out with a manual. C'mon, GM, grow a pair.
