So pretty much nothing's changed:
No side blades, check
No contrasting side scoop (as in the rendering), check (angry brow, beady eyed, pointy nose, frowny face)
And still no pictures of this thing with it's top down... c'mon Audi, you're killing me here.
@weatherman: I don't see a frowny face, I was making a frowny face (Cartman style) but saying it instead of making the actual ascii picture. >:^(
I'm disappointed that Audi didn't include the contrasting intake shown in the rendering.
The fact that Ferrari does not feel the need to do ads like this about Audi's hometown tells you everything you will ever need to know about the relative pecking order of the two companies' products.
@georgejetson: Not really, this is an add for the Audi brand, not for the R8. Actually the R8 is an Audi add in itself. Fiat tried to use that same technique with Ferrari's (and Schumacher) but it isn't as credible.
You know, considering that the majority of Italy didn't like the Hitler-Mussilini relationship, it is any surpise that the majority of Italy doesn't like a German (car) with an Italian (motor).
@maximum-sienna: That is a questionable remark. I'm not so sure if the Italians disliked Hitler in the beginning.
Most Europeans, and Americans were very pro Hitler at first (something we never really like to talk about) but only when it the shit started hitting the fan, this opinion changed.
And regarding the Audi, they are extremely popular in Italy and I think italians would only be flattered by the fact that a german car has an italian heart. I would.

I'm going to watch this.

Nice integration of the door handle. But as was said yesterday, it looks a little too much like a Lambo, and the raised top gives it a pinhead look.
The V-10 and handling probably make you forget all about that.
But what will you do with that R-8 you just got? Maybe this:

Great commercial. They should show it during the Super Bowl.

So the Italians could see it
They responded quite angrily
Something about a real expensive Fiat
I quickly retreated
Avoiding epithets that they did lob
And wondered aloud
Don't any of these bums have a job?
