Back in the day, my parents owned an Arrow and a Pacer Station Wagon simultaneously. Between the Pacer's, then, deeply uncool appearance and the Arrow restrictive back seat and lack of headroom, my teenaged ass chose to walk. A lot.
@SCROGGS!: Scroggs- see my previous post about inheriting an Arrow with a new spousal unit back in 82. My other car at the same time was a Pacer wagon!
I'm pretty certain we aren't related, in spite of a connection like that.
Somehow, that car looks like it really captures the essence of a Sacramento car. You could imagine a purple 1970 GTO without a hood and a blower as high as the roof for dream Sacramento car, or the green dodge neon that is the down to earth Sacramento car, but this one seems just right. A real Sac Town ride.
@bzr: The description mentioned that the contributor found the Arrow "parked right across the street from his '76 "Hurst Edition" AMC Pacer". I assumed that was the Pacer in question.
I'm seriously doubting Ah-nod could get his wide self into this tiny thing. Surely it would be listing to the port side--possibly scraping the pavement and casting sparks.
I hope he left a note on the windshield to take it to the Concours d'Ignorance next year. I'm really looking forward to it and plan to go as long as I can afford a hotel room in the area at that time of year!
@ShotgunAlex: That's a Mitsubishi Galant GTO 2000 GS-R, sort of a holy grail for old Mitsubishi aficionados (yes, those exist). This particular one seems to belong to some lucky Kiwi.
Plymouth Acclaim - it's more inconspicuous than Waldo, I'm pretty sure he drove one in Kindergarden Cop, and it's got Volvo-grades of boxiness (something I'm sure that, as a Hummer driver, makes Arnold feel comfortable).
It's also simultaneously simple and busy, cute and sporty, well-styled and ponderous. I love it, but it would rust apart after a few short years up here.
@FuzzyPlushroom: But remember the "Me and My Arrow" ad campaign? Nothing screams Malaise like that song... The cars were good, but that song made me want to put everyone of them in the Ditch! Thanks Murilee, nice going.....
@coupeZ600: I always assumed they named the car after Nilsson's song and based everything in the marketing on that slender, monotonous, ear-worm, doomed connection.

I know I've seen some Fire Arrows with them on, but I'm betting they were after market.

Oh, contradictions.
