It needs to lose the sissy roll bar and go back to the original atom hoop. Man up America!

Also, non-street legal unless you go through hoops, and Brammo takes a $20K kit car from the UK and charges you $40K for a $4K engine, while also making an agreement that you can't buy kits in the US anymore, which totally sucks.
Buy a used Elise for less than half the price, supercharge it, and you have a car you can drive on the street legally, has airbags, real crush zones, and a windshield and only weighs a couple hundred more.

Even Alton Brown breaks his rule at times for something that does one thing exceptionally well. In this case, I think he would agree that, while it may not be able to hold the kids and luggage, it excels at pure driving fun. For the rest of what you need a car for, there are things like the Focus RS.

That performance is almost insane superbike quick without the possibility of falling off.
0-60 in under three seconds...

So. How long until we see the SUV version with no 4WD option, DVD player screens in every headrest and 8 cupholders?
/sarcasm
It's really pleasing to see someone doing it right.

Why do I love cars like this? It's simple: they are driver's cars. No creature comforts (well, I guess you can get a heater in a Se7en), no back seat, no roof. Just a decently powerful engine and excellent suspension and steering all mounted on a taut chassis.
These cars make me sad, though. Sad because they prove that automotive engineers know how to make a good chassis. Yet, for a variety of reasons, our "family" cars and general road cars are mushy bags of blandness.
It would be pretty cool to see a Ford Taurus with a little badge on the door that says, "Chassis Tuned by Ariel".

The Se7en is a gem as well as cars like the radical SR4 and 3's. Wonderful machines but cars that really only belong on the track. Are car like any of these examples on the street is the same as a giant red button that says "FUN" with a big warning that says "DO NOT PRESS"

But it takes a certain kind of driver accept the lack of comfort and demands on focus that a driver's car like this takes. Most people can't and/or won't deal with that. Big, soft, comfy, easy to drive; that's what your neighbor wants in a car.
Some people say that Americans have a romance with the car. That may be true, but the honeymoon ended a long time ago...

Reminds me of back to basics type car like a Mercer Runabout.

@RamblinReck89: Forget graphics, there's barely enough flat surface for the manufacturer's name!

too bad they didn't let him ride in it WITHOUT the helmet, I would've loved to see what would've happened to his face.
