    See, when car guys get pissed at Ferrari, cool stuff happens. Ford GT40, Lamborghini Miura, all kinds of great things - and now this!

    Keep it up Ferrari! If it takes being dickheads to gearheads with money to generate more awesome rides, go with it! I'm sure someone will forgive you.

    And I don't care if they do. More supercars, more passionate little car builders, can't ever be a bad thing. #arash

    If you've got the 1 mil+, 'previously
    owned' Enzos seem to be readily available, with few-enough miles to insure that the new owner will need to pay for the first brake job. No doubt a lot less money than he's spent on this glorified kit-car project, and he still can't strut around rich-douchebag-style in a Ferrari-brand shirt, jacket, cap, shoes, etc. etc.

    @Nitrous Oxide: From what I've heard (definitely no personal experience), limited-run Ferraris go to buyers with a history of previous Ferrari ownership, with the best customers first in the queue. That's probably flexible depending on someone's celebrity, or how much money they can throw at the deal. But as I said, all conjecture and 2nd/3rd/4th+++ hand info. #arash

    I wonder how many supercar owners actually go head-to-head on the track or the street. They just sit down, compare list prices and performance specs and decide from that who wins. Where is the fun? Well, I guess that is fun if you are into economic power. My guess is (and I engage in excessive hyperbole here) that I could drive this car faster than most Enzo drivers could drive their cars. #arash

    Pretty slick, though if I must criticize (this is Jalopnik, of course I must) the side profile shows a distinct lack of looks-fast-even-while-sitting-still. I can't put my finger on it, perhaps the front end is too bulky, but from the profile it just doesn't send my heart aflutter. Perhaps someone with more design expertise than I can figure it out.

    @weatherman: I agree that the fender line is too bulky. Also that 'edge' look that is all the fad right now adds to the architectural feel of the fenders. Fast cars should look like they were shaped by the wind, not a mason's trowel. #arash

    Obviously this is the classic case of a brat with too much money a la Nikolay Smolensky. Arash Farboud had already set up a sports car company, commissioned a fine looking sports car, which was promising according to premier Brit magazines, then abandoned it completely for some foolish pursuit of punishing Ferrari.

    @Pessimippopotamus: that's one way to look at it, or you could see him as an entrepreneur with a record of creating competitive sports cars, who doesn't refuse to sell his cars to people so long as their money is green (so to speak).

    Personally, I think there's something laudable about his efforts to make an "everyman's Enzo," even though we may differ on the definition of everyman. #arash

    @weatherman: I don't know. He seems to get pissy about many things, like when he made this Porsche GT1 knockoff. This seems more like a baby tantrum more than anything.

    And it's not like he sticks by his cars anyway. The Farboud GTS was pretty nigh complete and ready to go on sale when he sold the company. I don't expect this to last long either.

    If he really wanted the Enzo, he should've bought one used instead of wasting his money on crap projects he's never going to finish. With a pissy head like that, no wonder Ferrari wouldn't sell him an Enzo. #arash

    There is some definite Enzo influence in the design, but I think that this is quite a bit better looking. But without the cachet of the Ferrari brand, and without numbers to make such things irrelevant, I think he's going to have a hard time finding buyers at over a half million dollars.

    $534,000, and you're giving me plastic windows? Weight savings, my ass! Acrylic windows are used to keep production costs down.

    If he'd made this as a one-off because he couldn't get that Enzo for which he pined, I'd be applauding him (because it's a marked step up from a FierEnzo), but instead I will openly mock him for his delusions of "competing" with the company by whom he felt slighted. #arash
