Pickup Trucks Overtake Econoboxes, Return To Top Sales Spot In October |

The sob story doesn't sound quite as convincing when it's coming out of the mouth of somebody commuting 40 miles each way in a shiny new 12 MPG 2-ton triple-cab ultra Super-Duty Quadruple-Ram-Hemi-Ironman-Truckmax Off-Road Ultimate Steer-master Rancholo Gold-edition pickup.
You'll be sorrrrrrrrrrrrry!

And realize that whether someone (thinks) that they can afford gasoline is not the problem. Plenty of wealthy Chinese can afford ground up tiger's teeth and rhinoceros horn for potency, but that does NOT make it a good idea.

Since these are comparing October last year versus October this year, seasonal effects would be eliminated.

Any small business owner in the snow belt who needs a new pickup is going to buy in the fall, so their old truck doesn't have to survive another winter...could that be enough to cause a temporary surge in sales?

Besides, what exactly IS the enjoyment of driving a big big truck? I have driven them, and in my opinion it feels horrible. Add lightness!

Geez, and I'd hate to be an Accord right now, that's a 36% drop year over year. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

...for some reason.

Inside was quiet and comfortable, except for some weird aerodynamics that required a bit of juggling with the rear windows when driving with the front windows down, in order to avoid a deafening buffeting resonance inside the cabin. But I seem to remember a lot of other sedans having similar quirks.
While not a fan of FWD, I'd like to try an SS with the 5.3 liter V8, as the same motor propels my 500lb heavier Silverado with authority. Would be a fun car for road trips I bet.
