    You know, I never really cared for Corvettes until I saw the GT1 C6R's racing at Lime Rock. What a sound! Mission accomplished, Chevy. I just hope this program survives until Lime Rock next year.

    @Motor_Yakuza: GT2 is anything but boring. It's the most exciting class in ALMS and with Flying Lizard, Risi, and the R/H BMWs (once they figure them out), the Vettes will finally have some worthwhile competition. Or at least I sure as hell hope so.

    @Fauxhemian: I didn't said that GT2 class is boring, I said that Corvette will win in the next decade in the GT2, witch will be pretty boring to see.

    Ever since I saw the C6 race version I wanted to make a street replica of it..then I remembered that when I wanted to do it they cost $50k...now this come along and I have to remember they cost $100k

    @Bentoboxx, Now part owner of General Motors: Easy, lets first get TV coverage in the states. Even if the C6.R were to win I'd doubt ESPN or 24hr US news would bat an eye.

    @Come&VetteMe: That would be my guess; the black paint at the back of the car merges very well with the black tires and black wheels, making the rear wheels seem larger than they really are.

    @Come&VetteMe: erm... why wouldn't they be different sizes? Nothing in the GT2 ruleset says you can't run staggered wheels, and with that much torque, you're going to want as much rear grip as you can get. Diameter is likely the same or an inch larger, width might be as much as 2" wider in the rear.

    @Gearhead_42 - Nibbles ate my avatar!: I'm not talking about width. Look at the sidewalls.
    That being said, staggered wheels can drastically hurt performance cornering, not to mention add weight.

    Since Corvette Racing is one of the brightest stars on the GM galaxy, I fully expected it to be cut by management. Possibly the beancounters are simply unaware of CR's existence. (Also, Pratt and Miller is the only team to have won both Le Mans and LeMons. They totally rule.)

    It will be nice to see the C6R with something to race against... Actually, it would be nice to see the C6R at all. Why does Portland have to be full of car hating hippies? PIR's not so bad really, there's quite the fan base. ALMS, if you come back I guarantee I'll be amongst the tens of people that will show up.

    @TimTim [Minardi]: We were just down ther for the Portland Historics with our 510. The new surface is great. And all the work they did over in turns 5,6, & 7 was to increase the length of the track to meet international motorcycle racing standards. Make of that what you will....
