If the Maxima sedan is outlawed, only outlaws will...
...actually, they will be able to buy a new Altima sedan and never know the difference.
Thinking of it that way, it reminds me the time during the Z-car hiatus from '96 to '02 when you could buy Nissan authorized S30 restorations at selected US dealers.
Nissan, keeping our streets free of newly minted outlaws for years!
@PowerTryp forever Minardi: Yeah, I think the wheelbase on the coupe is about seven inches shorter than the sedan; looks like a totally different car. And I totally thought it was a rebadged G37, though the G37 is actually based on the 350Z. FWD but still a good looking coupe.
I know I say this every time I go to Williams-Sonoma, but damn, that is a nice looking appliance. Nissan must be poaching industrial designers from Cuisinart.
Watch out, they might be filming Ghosn in 60 Seconds. Nic Cage plays a shrewd Brazilian businessman who gains a foot of height and peddles his way around NYC, making wacky sales pitches in a minute or less. Ultimately, he finds an inroad with the mayor and is able to quadruple sales of his slowest-moving product.
@Ash78: Has Ash been taking his Ginko Biloba, 'cause that was one hell of a recall.
On a side note, I just realized that your screen name "Ash" possesses the same letters as the word "has", but in a different order. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go join the other ADHD kids at the shiny table.
@Flathead Smith: Consistency is a virtue, I guess. At least we all know where you stand on the cops and cars thing.
Me, personally, am all in favor of cops having fast/cool cars. Because that means that some day they will be available to the general public at reduced prices. A Crown Vic is kind of blah. A P71 is kick ass.
@engineerd:We need to always remember this. The police today are not out there for our safety. They are out in force to collect revenue for the state. If they were concerned for our safety they would not be hanging out on the sides of the interstate "trolling" for easy tickets. They would be patrolling in the most dangerous neighborhoods and/or going to the crime instead of easy pick'ins.
@pauljones: "Okay, I'll just get out and drive a diesel Hummer H1 to your house while the plastics factory that's in there is polluting the everliving shit out of you and your family. Is that dirty enough for you?
People always talk crap about the ecocars that the police drive, and other environmentally friendly measures, but when it comes to when they have to rely on them, my, how quickly they shut up.
Thank God I don't do my job for people like you. You, sir, disgust me."
If that's aimed at me, that's just fine, but understand that while much of what you are saying is true, not everyone has had such a good experience when they needed the help of the police.
Additionally, you may not have noticed, but there was a great deal of inherent sarcasm in my previous post.

They don't even know what their own car makes? Or is electricity a big mystery to them? Like for James May.

I'm not going to tell it to you, because it's such a fantastical idea that you will steal it. Let's just say TASER + monster battery pack.

Seriously, dude, I'm no fan of the police either, but at the same time, I think you're taking things just a little too far out of context, here.
