Having played Quake on a laptop in the back seat of a moving vehicle, I can tell you, playing a first person game in a moving vehicle is a sure recipe for motion sickness. I started feeling nauseous after about 10 minutes of playing and the person sitting next me who was just watching the screen got sick as well. She had to get out and puke even! Good times...
Now if they were able to hook it up so that the car was actually being controlled by the game steering wheel and game pedals along with a front view camera; That would be something!
I larfed, but to do this right, you need split screen with exterior footage of the turn exits, the video game, and Roy rolling around. That would be epic funny.

Guy's com'n...I love a nice jab as much as the next guy who - like me, totally asks for it - but these comments are nothing compared to my ex-fiancee's rant about safety before I left for the 2007 Gumball, from which, after an accident at which I wasn't present, I chose to walk away from such events with mixed feelings...and vowed never to drive on such events again.
Obviously, the wise path for anyone who wants to race SHOULD start and end at the track, which is why I'm going back to where teenagers who think they know how to "race" SHOULD go...and I didn't start.
Although I have zero points on my license and a clean accident history, it would appear some would prefer I didn't drive at all. I'd love to see the DMV records of my feistier critics, but in the meantime I've been studying
Ironically, when my book came out, the criticism was so muted that I was unexpectedly invited to do a speaking tour, addressing various technology companies and law enforcement agencies regarding the use of consumer mapping technologies at lower cost than legacy platforms.
If you'd like to see some nice pictures of a fake German police car at Quantico academy, I'll share them for free.
In the meantime, I've got some Grand Am aero conformal wifi antenna mounts to work on. If any race fans are interested in pushing the envelope of using consumer tech to improve content, let me know.
I'm on record as having said some less-than-complimentary things about Alex Roy around here, but I'll give him this: he doesn't do anything half-assed. I once accused him of spending his way to the transcontinental record, and I stand by that statement, but I think you could also call him the Roger Penske of illegal road rally: while all the other rich douchebags were punting about, Alex approached it as a professional and reaped the benefits. I think that mentality will serve him well in "real" racing, and as a very grudging fan, I wish him luck.

I think he'll surprise a lot of folks, and I look forward to watching his brass balls drag and spark through the corners of every race.

I wasn't a fan of your public-road actions, but I understood them.
I'll count myself with those commending your serious approach to your endeavors.
Now that you're on the track, I wish you the much needed luck.
