Our love of Volvocheros definitely extends to this 740 wagon converted into an off-road, military-style four-door Volvochero from The F***ing Fulfords, the English version of The Osbournes.

It's surprising how well the 740 takes to being reformed into a mean hunting truck. We're not huge fans of the diamond-cut metal on every surface, but we love the repurposing of the back hatch behind the second row of seats. Despite the revised nose, the lights, interior, door trim and rear-window are all 700-series.

Volvo reliability with Commando style and British engineering... where do we sign up?

Things used to be so much simpler for Volvo marketers: you talked about how sensible the Göteborg machines were, how reliable… and, above all, how safe. Maybe shake up car buyers by implying that they'd better get their life insurance in order before driving one of those dangerous cars- you know, the kind that don't get dropped on their roofs by lab-coated Swedes during testing. Here we see a series of Volvo crash-test videos that no doubt sent legions of late-80s car buyers into the safely enfolding arms of the the Volvo 740.

We saw a Volvo 240Chero not long ago, and a very sanitary job it was. But say you want a Volvo cartruck and don't want to spend the kind of money that gets you something that looks like it came that way from Göteborg- what then? Why, scrape together $499 and buy this '87 Volvo 740 Turbo that's already had Step One (of about 50 steps) in the -chero-izing process performed! The Swedish nuts at Hedberg and Streetpower released another video of their batshit Volvo 740 in action. They've apparently tweaked 530 horepower and 527 ft-lbs of torque out of this particular brick, which we first featured back in the early days of Jalopnik hoonage. They're not bad behind the wheel, either. – Mike Spinelli
