    Bob's big Bimmer bounced down the boulevard, beautifully breaking off its blasted, buxom, Bangle butt.

    The E46 is the best looking of the bunch, with the range becoming increasingly more modern, until the Big D'Oh.

    Also, their webseries ad with the E46 M5 with Clive Owen (IMO the best choice for 007) was inspirational.

    @Mobius: You mean E39, right? The E46 was a 3-Series.

    @All:

    Yes, I meant the E39. I was too lazy to wiki. That said, one person saying it is quite enough.

    I still think the E39 looks every part a BMW, and that's where I'd put my money, when I get that money. #tips

    The Bangle design took some getting used to, and was definitely not a universal acclaimed one.

    But this is just bland, and boring, but I mean that in the bestest way possible, with just a hint of athleticism and speed. I think it is a good design, not great one, but definitely good.

    I'll take the twin-turbo, reverse-cowgirl V8, pls.

    Does anyone else see a little reverse-Jaguarization in the hood?

    Of the E60 range, I think the 550i with its sport package is the best looking of the range. Also, it can be had with a stick shift. I think it's a highly overlooked car that's overshadowed by the M5.

    The E34 was defintely the high point. Still looks fantastic and fairly modern 20 years later. I've also always been a big fan of the E28. Has it aged well? Not really, but it's just so iconic and pretty much framed my idea of what a BMW should be.

    Then there's the E39. I loved it when it came out, but it hasn't aged well. And, dare I say it, I think I prefer the E60. Yeah, I didn't like the Bangle Butt, but it was at least adventurous, unlike the the E39, which basically a jellybean version of the E34.

    On first impression I like the F10, although the GT is completely retarded. The back end is more pleasing to look at, but the front end is a little dull, but still works with the rest of the car. Say what you will about Bangle, but his designs that are the ones that will be remembered in 30 years, not their watered-down, conservative replacements.

    I actually think that the E39 is the low point in this pic. The E60 headlights are ridiculous, but the design has aged much more gracefully to my eyes. Its taut lines continue to be attractive and only the details bug me. I still admire them on the road.

    With the E39, there's a heaviness that I find very unattractive and even the much older E34 somehow looks more modern.

    I won't pass judgement on the new model just yet, but I'd say at least they got rid of the bad details and kept the lighter lines and sculpted shapes.

    Whether it stays fresh or not will determine if they played it too safe again.
