I'm quite positive I have this recording on CD somewhere. I think my favourite track is the F40 onboard .... ohhhhhh god ...

Ah, Open Pipe Symphony, that's the one:

@Flagrant German Fanboy: I'm somewhat embarrassed and somewhat proud to admit that I do too, although mine was called "Mechanical Symphony".

Bought at Le Mans, sometimes just put it on in the car for fun.

My first (only) slot car set had a Ferrari Dino 206SP (basically a slightly smaller P3/P4 with a V6) and Porsche 906 Carrera.....and, just like in real life, the Porsche always beat the Ferrari.

But enough about that, here's some P3/P4 pron..

This same technique was used in Claude Lelouch's classic Rendezvous film, to great effect.

@1dollar93: Right you are. I just didn't know that Fly made a Mercedes 6.9 slot car.

They must have had a Prius slot car as the camera car so that it's engine sound wouldn't interfere.

Audio sync is a bit iffy...

@laylaholic: Agreed. A few too many instances of decel on a straight, and acceleration on corner entry. A couple of times, when the engine note crescendoed just past the apex, and pulled through the corner onto the straight, it was magical.

@smalleyxb122: You do realize that the "real" soundtrack is being synced up with the "live" slot cars right? I was a video editor for 8 years, and it's not easy to do this.

@Quattro-luvr:You mean the slot cars weren't making those glorious sounds?

I understand that audio from a race isn't going to sync with video of a slot car. I don't think that I was complaining. I love the few instances where the audio seemed to match.
