The vote box doesn't work but the fact it is slowamatic makes this car utterly USELESS and worth about $19k. If he repaints it a NORMAL color that ISN'T pussymagnet yellow.
What? You are asking yourself, "Has engineerd gone off the deep end again?"
The answer is yes. I haven't had my coffee yet, traffic sucked, and the morning scotch is wearing off.
Therefore, the engineerd Fair Market Value (eFMV patent pending) was loaded with a bunch of bull shit including $15,000 for the base car, $20,000 for keeping receipts, and another $25,000 for using multiple ellipses and question marks in the ad. So, this car could easily go for $60,000.
Despite the enormously terrible looking modifications, they do at the very least appear to be relatively well done. As as bonus, if you don't like all of those modifications (which I sure as hell don't) they can be easily stripped off and sold piecemeal to recoup much of that initial buy in cost, and leave you with the cash you need to revert the car to a much more tasteful state of existence.
Agreed, you can't find an unmolested Supra TT for less than that without any modifications. Sure, the car looks like it's a 16 year-old's wet dream but you can't deny the fact that the price is good given all of the upgrades. Of course this is all assuming that everything has been done professionally and the car runs like it should.
It's tough to tell for certain with those tiny pictures, but the mods do appear to be well done. Barring the hood, which can be a pain in the ass on any car, there are no horrible panel misalignments. The engine is a little bit dirty, but it doesn't seem to be in any way sloppy.
@aSoundofSleep: @pauljones: Agreed. You can sell the body kit to pay for a new paint job if it's not your style. Assuming he really has put $85,000 into the car, an asking price of $44,000 is not completely unreasonable.
Tough one. On one hand, I think you'd have to be on something to pay $44k for even a tuned Supra... on the other hand, maybe that something could be the constant natural high of the rabid Supra enthusiast?
Anything rare (which 4th gen Supras are, in the States) tends to sell for way more than it ought to be worth anyway; change that to "rare and Jap'nese" and two score and four starts looking like a price someone out there would definitely pay.
Also, why aren't there any pictures of it on a dyno, the Supra's natural habitat? That's like seeing a DSM without any shots of it on a flatbed.
The belts are only four-point. I'd need five point belts before I turned the key in this thing. I'd criticize the paint for not being able to get a straight edge on those stripes, but that would just be cheap. Aside from the stripes, it looks like a nicely integrated job. But this doesn't look like a car for folks who have jobs.
It looks like the engine is out of an Aristo, or he's at least using the ECU out of one. I think he mentions manual transmission, but there's nothing about 5- or 6-speeds (the W58 is often used in swaps as it's MUCH cheaper than the 6-speed.) Also, I don't see a throttle valve cable at the throttle body, so if it's automatic it's not the original Toyota one.
@Gearhead's Garage: it gets even more interesting with Google's page translation service (from the page's comments section):

As the car stands right now with that paintjob and those gaudy bits and pieces, it is crack pipe.
Once again, less is more.
