@OldeEnglishD: If you believe in that whole "divine spark in man" thing, then God used to make cars all the time. Then, we started building cars by committee and God smited us for our wickedness.
While you think of all the noise and automotive sex and knock-off hub caps and crackling on the over-run and eating Ferraris for breakfast, remember also that Mike Hawthorn wore a bow-tie.
Stunning car. Always liked the brown on this. The early 250 SWBs look best in a powder blue or ivory.
There were earlier supercars, however. The Maserati 5000GT, Ferrari's 410 Superamerica, and Pegaso Z-102 were all just as fast and belonged to the '50s. All of them comfortable tourers.
The difference I guess is that the Lusso could handle the corners a lot better.
This might be my favorite car on the planet. That being said, I'm most impressed that his car collection never reached critical mass, causing some sort of manly singularity that would smell like Old Spice if anything could escape its immense gravitational pull.
Come on, this parked next to his XKSS, 911, and all of those motorcycles? Possibly the end of the universe itself.
There is a good reason why I have a pic of this car as my monitor wallpaper. I think it may be the most beautiful car ever made, certainly the most beautiful Ferrari existent.
Y'all can have the F430's and the 599's. Keep em. I'll just take this one little brown car for my very own, thankyouverymuch.
Thanks, Pete, for the post and the pics. Lil' Jalops everywhere need to know about cars like this one. Modern supercars are nice and all but they'll never ever have the style, class, beauty and sophistication of a car like this. Could their possibly be a car that is more McQueen?

Why in the world would anyone watch that moron pretend to be The Man? You can see plenty of footage of the real deal.
Hollywood is creatively bankrupt and should be shut down with no bailout.
As for the car--I'll be back in a minute.

Well, if you changed the title of this post to "most beautiful automotive WIN ever made", I doubt you would get as much disagreement.

And to answer yesterday's gushy romantic QOTD: yes, but only for this car.
