Good thing they give prizes for the best pirouette. That was impressive. As was the survivability of the cage, the car and the driver. I'm glad everything worked like it should.
Next time you might want to tune your aero package a little more.

I have a feeling last weekend's rollovers will quiet down the people who have been whining about the roll cage regulations on the LeMons forum.
@Armand: I was patiently waiting for someone to make a Flight of the Bumblebee joke, but I see that you've got it covered with your picture captions. Well played.
As for the pictures themselves: Yikes. Damned lucky that the car didn't take just one more tumble after the cage was compromised. I don't reckon that landing on the roof with an already cracked roll cage would have ended as well.
I was out at a fire school at Eagle's Canyon (site of the north central TX race in June 2010) today and I'm thinking that they're gonna need more judges. That track is a killer. I went out for 4-5 laps just to familiarize myself with the layout and even driving at 4/10ths my car was making those wonderful hot brake smells, and I think the high today was somewhere in the mid-70s - MUCH cooler than it's going to be in June.
I'm guessing that we'll see a LOT of folks in the penalty box after going 4 wheels off after thinking that had more brakes left than they did.
@that ain't the way to have fun, son: I would've guessed '80, too. '81 was my second guess, but close only counts when throwing iron semicircles and compact pin-fused explosive devices.
I would be back on the track but just barely. What amazes me is that I can actually remember that Ho drove a Pug, knew the Corvair and McVeigh, Toyoglide (how could you ever forget that!), the Gaz and the 2 Caddy questions.
What a peculiar range of information I possess. Mass murderers, dictators, jackasses (Nader)...but by their association with vehicles.
And of course, Ted Bundy was famous for the VWs he couldn't drive properly, which got him arrested in FL, and Oswald didn't have a driver's license. But I digress.

Glad everyone is alright.

First guy should be LeMons justice spokesman.
"Do you know why you're here?"
"I probably fucked up, somewhere..."
"Do you know how you fucked up?"
Pause for thought
"Not exactly sure...I'm hopin' you'll tell me..."
Yep, they'll tell you alright.
Can't wait for north-central TX, can't wait for north-central TX, can't wait for north-central TX....
Hopefully it won't be too tornadoish.

I've never been out there, but I see a field trip in the future.
Oh, and today was only mid-60's!
Yeah...June's gonna be interesting.

Never, ever, did I think the number of ducks on the Cadillac crest would ever be useful trivial knowledge.
Thanks to spending too much time, here, I now know the V8-6-4 was '81, not '80, as I'd thought for many a year.

But you have to love those two ancient MoPars--
For some reason it reminds of this:
Two MoPars, both alike in dignity,
In fair NoCal we lay our scene
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny--
Our two hours traffic on the stage.
Wait.
This might be a tale told by an idiot!

Ducks? No idea about ducks until now, but I'm still grinning.
