    I can't help but wonder why so much GM news comes out of 'Stralia and the Holden division.

    We're not getting the truly cool cars from there, and it isn't as if there is a lack of a properly hot/cold/high/low testing environment here.

    I guess GM caught a break on overseas shipping....

    Hold on...they're testing the UV resistance of the new roof, that's it!!!

    @ragtopdodge: A 599 is a Grand Tourer with over 600 horsepower & 450 footpounds of torque... you're comparing that to a ponycar with roughly 400 or slightly more HP in it's hooniest version?

    Why? Different driving purposes/intents, yet the 599 will still totally bitchslap the Camaro in just about every element of performance you could possibly conceive.

    A lot of folks don't like it, but I'm a fan of the Tan / Silver. It's even better with the old Light Pewter Metallic color from the 4th gen and C5 Corvette era, as the tan picks up the brown/bronze in the Pewter.

    This may be an unusual post for me, but I will not be bashing GM for this decision. No, I applaud GM for this decision. I think it's great!
    Why is this a great decision? Because this is what the market wants: another high-powered convertible to compete with the Mustang. Lots of people will gladly fork over their hard-earned money for one of these. No government incentives are needed to sell it; and no goofy battery pack/weak engine drivetrain is included.
    GM will make money selling these because it is what the consumers want, not what the political hacks in Washington D.C want.

    Am I to understand that they have production mules up and running on public roads, but they're still a year and a half from market? And it's not even a new model, just a drop top? What's "new" about GM? Looks like the same old poor management and retarded product cycle to me.

    ...can we just do away with this silly model year crap that makes no sense? For example: why exactly is a Volt a 2011 model if it will be released in 2010? Shouldn't it be the 2010 Volt? It's on sale in 2010, which is before 2011. If it doesn't go on sale until 2011, then it would make sense that it's a 2011 model, but if it's on sale in 2010, it really should be 2010.
