Yes, Wes it resembles a car - but a very fat car. To properly advertise this latest 5 series I think BMW needs to resurrect Clive Owen's character from 'The Hire." It could be great. Only this time he's a nutty professor who has to pick up relatives -- the Klumps -- in a 5 series and take them to a thanksgiving feast. Hilarity ensues. Fart jokes abound.
I think this is the most attractive 5 series since the E34 which went out of production in 1996. Alot of people are saying it is modelled after the 7 series but I also see a family relationship with the 3. The designers placed it skillfully between the two.
@livinlvis: The E34 was more attractive but may have represented the pinnacle of its design language. To this day, I'm not sure how it could be improved upon.
@Alfisted: I'm thinking I might hunt down a well-kept E34 540i touring when I next change cars ... but finding one in good condition with < 200k on it may be tough.
The Bangle design took some getting used to, and was definitely not a universal acclaimed one.
But this is just bland, and boring, but I mean that in the bestest way possible, with just a hint of athleticism and speed. I think it is a good design, not great one, but definitely good.

Of the E60 range, I think the 550i with its sport package is the best looking of the range. Also, it can be had with a stick shift. I think it's a highly overlooked car that's overshadowed by the M5.

@Instructor: Yes, pictured is an E39. All this talk of E46's in a 5 Series thread is disturbing.

Also, their webseries ad with the E46 M5 with Clive Owen (IMO the best choice for 007) was inspirational.

Yes, I meant the E39. I was too lazy to wiki. That said, one person saying it is quite enough.
I still think the E39 looks every part a BMW, and that's where I'd put my money, when I get that money. #tips

You forgot to add big, boated and overly complex.

Oh, crap. I seem to have argued myself into a position where I may have to defend the Porsche Panamera. Eject, eject, eject!

I, on the other hand, will defend the Aston Martins. Shall we?

Does anyone else see a little reverse-Jaguarization in the hood?
