Why don't they show it with a bed full of lumber or hay, or hauling a 5th wheel trailer full of cattle? I think the urban cowboy market died with the economy.
The Smoking Tire, huh? Is Matt Farah that much of a star to torpedo an entire Web Cast? Couldn't they pick up (pun intended) someone else instead of giving this guy free reign to start another web cast?
I guess I just don't understand the demographics of these shows....
@UDMan:
I'm so with you. Farah grates on me. Big time. I would make some comments here about his appearance, but A) I just got back from repairing homes for Jesus and B) I don't want to risk getting banned...though that would be very meta.
@Al Navarro: With the exception of a certain British program, I've yet to come across any video-format automotive coverage that doesn't annoy me.
It's either too slow (I can read much faster than normal speech), too short on detail/description, or too over-done (HEY GUYS!!! WE'RE HERE CHECKING OUT THE SICK NEW DODGE AVENGER!!).
Usually it's all 3.
Sure it looks like a nice truck but that suspension test in the first few minutes of the video could use an upgrade. You may skip ahead to around 2:30 to see what I mean.
I used to laugh at guys driving inappropriate trucks with unnecessary capabilities. No more. I'll pay any price, even becoming a stereotype, for this truck.
Gotta go iron the brim on my cap, brah.
@eggwich for amnesty: For my money, I'll still take a ProDrive subie, but I do respect the Raptor. It's an off-road tour-de-force, and it's the real deal, unlike, I dunno, the H2.
The first immaculately polished one I see in a downtown area get a 5-gallon bucket of mud, though.
@FP - in black for the Jezebel Nine: + 1 on Sublime being good.
The claim's much easier to defend it you pretend their catalog ended (rather than started) with 40oz to Freedom.
@Steven Dale Schmitt: They're thinking that Birkenstock-wearing enviro-weenies aren't the only people with money that's green. You might not like it, but they'll sell every copy they can build and that's the beauty of capitalism: Choice.
If hybrid nerdlinger-mobiles outsold f-150's 2:1, you better bet your ass Ford would be in the nerdlinger game, but dollars vote, and aside from times of high gas prices, they vote for awesome rather than boring. Gas is at $2, I vote awesome.
This thing costs only $1,000 less than I paid for my house! And I don't even live in Detroit! Still, I kinda want it even if I know it won't be anywhere near as reliable as my Nissan Frontier (318,000 miles of pizza delivery), if for no other reason than I would finally have something I could drive off road in.

I like deCadenet's "victory by design" series....thought that's not really a episodic vehicle.

Sublime were, as I believe the kids say these days, 'ill shit'. 'Dawg.'
Not usually much depth, though, but they knew it.

That's not that much for a high-end pickup these days.
I figured this thing would be more like 45k.
