We put a screen in your screen so you can find your car with your car.

Not impressed until the entire dashboard is covered in a flexible touchscreen wraparound display that looks glossy but feels like alcantara.

The Supercharged got a little weird with the new grille, but it's fine. When you think the interior can't get any better, they get it one step closer to perfection. It's my favorite thing in the RR.

@elchimpo: See my comment above--I'm not sure if these will be built to the same spec as what pilots use, but those absolutely must not fail. In the early days of glass cockpits, they had mechanical backups. But now, the reliability is such that they don't need backups anymore. Of course, that's much more of a life-death situation. And it would deprive your friendly local Land Rover dealer of repair revenues...

Cool. Business jets and late-model airliners have been moving towards configurable, all-glass cockpits for a decade (and they're as anal as anyone about reliability and accuracy). Nice to see it trickling down to cars--maybe soon, we'll all be able to choose the exact gauges we want to see. And maybe even access diagnostics without having to buy special tools and software.

You mean the exception to the Defender stereotype? I think this stereotype only exists in places (like the US) where the Defender is VERY hard to find--it hasn't been sold here in something like 20 years, except for imported kits. VERY expensive.

@Ash78: yeah, but I have a RR. Most Defender owners here use that butterfly chaser outfit, you know? Like Steve Irvin. But then, they use it while doing this:

/David Attenborough and Jeremy Clarkson bastard love-child

"The Range Rover Sport, with its new, evolved V8 Supercharged engine, is commonly spotted at night in urban landscapes with its xenon headlights prowling on helpless, smaller species such as the Toyota Prius and the Honda Civic. The Range Rover shows no mercy at all when it comes to its prey and has no regard for onlookers...

Here, we can see this fine example of a predator sneaking up s-l-o-w-l-y behind a smart car, clearly angered by its attitude. Now watch! As it goes straight for the neck of its prey and sink its teeth violently into the poor, helpless animal..."

The sad part is that the Defender meets your RR stereotype where I live. It's the "work 60 hours a week at the law firm and need something unique to take the kids to the Zoo on the weekend"

The RR is all silver-haired senior partners.

The ePRS (US Patent No. c11077983) translated the press release to this:

The 2010 Range Rover Sport with LR-V8 5.0 liter Supercharged making 510 hp and 461 torques.

Really, does anything more need to be said? Sure, there's another more budget-friendly version. Sure, they tout their greenness with reduced friction internals. Sure, there's some interior appointments that make it nicer than my house.

But really, they could stop at 5.0L Supercharged making 510 hp and 461 torques and people would not notice.
