Take the badge off and you could have a respectable car.
Funny, people who think that the badge makes a car disrespectable are the same people who think that the right badge makes one respectable. Dissing the Forte right out of the gate because it's a Kia makes as much sense as saying "The X6 would suck, except that it's a BMW."
I actually think this is (could be) a decent car. It doesn't stink of boring like a Corolla and it doesn't have stupid spaceship styling like the Civic. I could tolerate this car, moreso than a lot of other econoboxes, at least.
That said, I promised myself long ago that'd I'd never own another econobox.

@FromaBuick6: Excuse my poor manners. Those new job titles make me laugh,i used to go out with a girl that basically painted fingernails & she called her self a nail technician. Yeah, that relationship was short lived.
@85_Grand_National: Um, yeah. I'm gonna have to go ahead and, um, disagree with you there.
As bad as it sounds, the track record of suck for the Big Three in the econo realm is far worse than the Koreans. Recent Hyundai/Kias have been actually acceptable, especially with that big warranty. Meanwhile, I still wouldn't touch a Detroit compact with a 39 and 1/2 foot pole.

This can only improve upon the Spectra. A coworker of mine has a 2004.5 Spectra, which is a miserably mediocre car. It's got something north of 100k on it, and is actually fairly reliable, but parts availability is lousy. Hopefully, Hyundai/Kia has improved on that situation. The Forte is a handsome little car.

Except that I meant that the badge was the only redeeming characteristic of an otherwise horrendous monstrosity.

What did you do to make Ray so angry at you?
You grabbed his ass while he was doing an interview again, didn't you?
