Just replace "British" with "American" and "Lucas" with "Tremec".

And by "batch" you mean them all...

I know some Challengers and Z06s have had similar problems. Maybe Tremec quality is slipping. Who knows.

If you can't launch it with your own hands and feet, then you don't get to launch.

Try getting that kind of reaction out of Nissan, or any other car company any more.
There are still a lot of problems with GM, but it seems that they have got the transparency and customer service thing fixed pretty well.

But hey, maybe now we're learning that launch control on a high powered car is a potential recipe for disaster for anyone, and not just Nissan.

Granted, you are correct, launch control is always a potential trouble spot on high-powered cars. I am not blaming Nissan for that; I do, however, criticize Nissan for the horrible way in which they handled it. And, if memory serves, any use of the launch control on the Nissan whatsoever voided the warranty, regardless of whether or not it damaged the transmission.
The same can't be said for the Camaro, and my guess is that if GM was being as sheisty about its warranties as Nissan, we would have heard about it the day it happened; such is the scrutiny that GM is presently under.
