    Super Snake hood SUCKS. Looks like TWO 'grouper mouths' stacked. Or they want to bring the 'wandering eye' red LED back under it. Either way, its wrong. Front is just too 'chubby' to work right.

    While I love the Shelby Mustang, I would rather buy a bone stock GT500 and add a Kenne Bell supercharger for 6k, save the extra 27K, and get still get 801 horsepower.

    @Alexander Card: I'm pretty sure Teh Gayzors would very much know the difference between an 11 second Civic and an 11 second Lambo. They've got discerning taste like that.


    Also: please learn to speak like a grown-up. We capitalize the first words in our sentences use the correct form of "you're" Vs "your".

    Maybe I'm a snob (the condition and contents of my driveway suggest otherwise), but I have a hard to loving Mustangs beyond the GT...maybe the GT500.


    To me, Mustang = Cheap Fun. You don't compare Mustangs to 370Zs or BMW335s or M3s. You don't go to Mustangs for sophistication, even if they've finally learned how to handle.


    I have a hard time anyone's going to make a real track car out of any of these, which puts them firmly in the poseur/collector category in my book. That's not a good thing.

    I've got no problem with 'Stangs on the track. It's that none of these Shelbies are ever going to be tracked in anger...hence: poseurmonile. It's like building up a kickass Bronco and never actually taking it offroad.

    I like. But I'm so incredibly confused now...every time I see a special edition Mustang in person, I give a hesitant "Wow...?" as if I'm waiting for approval by someone nearby who knows whether or not it's actually worth "wowing" over. I see so many Mach/Saleen/Cobra/GT500 models every week, I've completely lost track.

    I'm not the biggest fan of the new muscle-cars, with the exception of the G8 GXP. I think they tend to be too big, too heavy, and kinda ugly.


    That said, I'm really developing a soft spot for the new Mustang. Ford just seems to be doing everything right. They're smaller than their competitors, and lighter, (what was it? 800ish lbs lighter than the Challenger?) and they're really reaching the point where they handle like sports cars, not just like the muscle cars of old. On top of that, no matter how much Mustang you want, there's an option for you. You can get the base engineerd version with the V6, or you can keep upgrading until you start into the realm of the obscene or the unbelievable.


    The Mustang is becoming a serious competitor for everything from the Mitsubishi Eclipse all the way up to the Corvette. Add into that the fact that Ford is doing very nice things with their interiors and the absence of the mulleteer stereotype that plagues the Camaro and Challenger, and you've got a car that's hard to ignore.

    @Deartháir - Now with more SingoFinger™!: Also: That Super Snake just looks MEAN. I wasn't a huge fan of the 2010 Mustang when it first was revealed... but it's grown on me somewhat now that I've seen a bunch of them in person. That Snake, however... wow. Dragons ho!

    @Deartháir - Now with more SingoFinger™!: They really should name the base version after me. That would be awesome.


    @Engineerman: When developing the '05, they were talking about using the DEW98 chassis, which would have meant AWD would have been an easy option to offer. Since they wound up hacking the DEW98 chassis apart and modifying it heavily for the Mustang, I'm not sure how easy it would be do put AWD on it. However, I still salivate every time I think of an AWD 'Stang. Purists would hate it, but it would be a crapload of fun on the track.

    @Tucker589: Yeah, because all of those coil over suspension, sway bar, and all around running gear upgrades mean nothing. I mean, it's not like the stock Mustang doesn't perform well, especially for how much it costs, but when you give it independant rear suspension too, along with a bevy of other upgrades?


    Well fuck no it must handle horribly because it's a fucking Mustang.
