It's our first glimpse at the...err...front...corner...region. Nothing against the upcoming 'Stang, but these teasers only have value if they actually show something to get excited about—and this one really doesn't. Unlike previous teasers, which showed off the first clear look at the dashboard, the seats, the badge and details, this new shot only gives a very shadowy look at a small portion of the grille, and an angle of the fender which is hard to judge proportion by. Show us the damn car already.

<![CDATA[ 2010 Ford Mustang Seats And Center Console ]]> We're getting a steady stream of teasers on the newly updated 2010 Ford Mustang, like this first look at the seats and the new center console. Obviously seats need to be comfortable first and attractive second, but these look like they fit both bills pretty well. The new center console appears taller, integrating the armrest right into the surface, with a little door in the middle for storage of all your favorite car-worthy junk. Take a look a those new door inserts too — pretty sharp if you ask us. We won't be seeing the actual Mustang formally until the end of November at the Los Angeles Auto Show, so we'll just have to make do with the teasers as they come.

<![CDATA[ 2010 Ford Mustang Convoy Caught, Top Dropped ]]> Seems reader Christine stumbled into a stable of ponies as a group of 2010 Ford Mustangs traveled down what looks to us like Detroit's I-94 freeway. Though these are pretty poor quality camera phone pictures, we did notice three things about the new 'Stang. First, the coupe is wearing some cool wheels which, though distorted, remind us of the same ones the General Lee sports. Second, Ford guys in convertible Mustangs that get caught with the top down on a camera phone give a mean stink-eye. Third, apparently Bill Gates' 20-year-old clone is driving the hard top.

<![CDATA[ First Official Photo Of 2010 Ford Mustang Dash ]]> Ford continues their slow piece-by-piece-by-piece reveal of the 2010 Ford Mustang with this official photo of the car's dashboard. Since it's just a teaser, you can't really make out much except the dash and the side view of the steering wheel, but it looks like a more rounded interpretation of the outgoing model's interior. Of course, as you can see from the spy shots below, we've already seen the what the new 'Stang looks like on the inside. We've gotta say that as far as the interior accommodations go, the Camaro appears to still have an edge over the Mustang and Challenger in the muscle car wars.

<![CDATA[ 2010 Ford Mustang Spotted Wearing Window Stickers ]]> Why these 2010 Ford Mustangs are sporting Monroney stickers is beyond us, perhaps they're looking for a little extra attention and want to use the mules as rolling advertisements, but hey, there it is, window sticker. Up front the lights have been slimmed down a bit with a new turn signal treatment and the bumper in the back gets some curves in favor of the current cars more geometric approach. We're not sure if the sticker is accurate, but the convertible is touting an EPA estimated 18 MPG combined cycle and a five star roll over crash rating. We're tempted to call these engineers a bunch of dorks for the window stickers, but that would kind of be like the pot calling the kettle black. Spy reportage below.

We snapped a couple more Mustang prototypes, showing more and more details. Among today's quarry was a blue V6 Coupe, a nicely badged-out V6 convertible, and a close-up of a monroney sticker (which have been attached to several of the latest Mustang prototypes.

<![CDATA[ 2010 Ford Mustang GT Convertible Detail Teaser Shots ]]> The last 24 hours has been one for the record books for those anxious to see the 2010 Ford Mustang. We've seen a nearly full reveal of the new Mustang's interior, clear spy photos of the 2010 Shelby GT500 and now this set of official teaser shots from Ford of what appears to be the 2010 Ford Mustang GT Convertible. These new shots clearly show a lot of details of the car that frustratingly, we'd already expected. Not much new to see here boys, but what there is, we've got below the jump.

The new-style headlights tucked deeply into the sharply angled curve portray the nose we were expecting and, in profile, the beltline has a kink that is reminiscent of the 1967 Mustang convertible. The revised steering wheel conforms to what we've seen and the GT badge isn't much of a surprise. The new GT wheels carry over the classic 'stang five-spoke design but add a deep well and more effects along the edge. Stay tuned to Jalopnik as this slow and painful Bataan Mustang death march continues until the LA Auto Show in November.

<![CDATA[ 2010 Ford Mustang Interior Revealed; Shows Evolutionary, Not Revolutionary Changes ]]> After getting a clearer look at the 2010 Ford Mustang GT500 yesterday, we just got these perfect spy shots in from the folks at KGP laying out the interior changes for the 2010 Ford Mustang. If you're having a hard time identifying the differences, don't be shocked, as they're subtle and evolutionary over the outgoing 2009 model. Given the rubber steering wheel, we're assuming this interior belongs to the base V6 model, but changes like the revised center stack, cleaned up emergency brake lever, new air vents and a side window defrost vent will be shared across all cars. It's also worth noting the ergonomic updates to the center stack, as the digital readout is now at the top of the pile, followed by presets and menu controls; the volume and tuning knobs are both analog knobs now (thank you Ford) and the HVAC controls move to the bottom. Door panels remain largely unchanged except for the speaker panel. The impressions of the spies and the reverse angle on the interior are below.

We just got a new look inside the 2010 Mustang, and this prototype's dash was completely uncovered and uncamouflaged. This is the first time we've gotten a truly clean and unencumbered look at the new 'Stang's redesigned interior. The new dash design appears to utilize a number of the current Mustang's parts to save cost, but the main dash face, the center console, gauge-package, and steering wheel have all been restyled to give a more refined, upscale look while maintaining the simple, retro feel.

<![CDATA[ 2010 Ford Mustang In The Nude! ]]> These exclusive shots, coming by way of Jalopnik reader Rob, are the first to show the new 2010 Ford Mustang without the S&M leather cladding we've come to know and despise. Yes, finally the new Mustang has disrobed to show us some pretty leopard-skin body paint and oh yes, the look we're now seeing is exactly what we expected after we showed you those exclusive sketches a few months ago. But now we've decided to even strip away the body paint to show you an exclusive rendering of the 2010 Ford Mustang GT. Just hit the jump to see it.

<![CDATA[ 2010 Ford Mustang Hood Uncovered, Reveal Expected In Build Montage Form ]]> With the 2010 Ford Mustang inching its way toward an official reveal, today we get a look at its very dramatic hood. Uncovered by the boys at Mustang Forums, the hood for the newest 'Stang looks to be getting a cowl induction-style power bulge as its dominating feature. It will, of course, be covering a variety of engines, including a new 5.0-liter V8, the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost and maybe even a turbo four-cylinder. With the updated prancing pony badge visiting us the other day, and this hood today, we want an 80's-style montage to act as the final reveal, with assembly of the finished car done part-by-part set to the tune of Push it to the Limit. <![CDATA[ Which Pony Is The New 2010 Ford Mustang Emblem? ]]> Can you tell which of these two horses is the new emblem for the upcoming 2010 Ford Mustang? Besides the color, there are actually some subtle differences between the two. Considering the trend of retro styling, will the new emblem actually look older than the current one? Choose your horse, place your bets, and make the jump to find out.

And it's the dark horse by a nose! Yep, this here is the new 2010 model pony. Douglas Gaffka, chief designer for the 2010 Mustang, says of his steed:

"We lifted the head to make the pony more proud, tipped the neck into the wind to give it a feeling of greater speed and better balance... It’s more chiseled and more defined and looks more like a wild horse... It’s more realistic in terms of proportion to an actual Mustang.”

How this will translate to the look of the actual car remains to be seen. [via Ford]

<![CDATA[ 2010 Ford Mustang GT Caught Sheepishly Hiding Behind Corvette On Woodward ]]> The team was camped out on Woodward checking out the pre-cruise action when, in between countless special editions of the current model, the 96-days-away 2010 Ford Mustang GT appeared. Not bold enough to move down Woodward undisguised, it hid meekly behind this Corvette, hidden under black vinyl and blankets. While we have it on good authority that this is actually the 2010 Ford Mustang Warriors in Pink edition, Ford’s communications staff won’t officially verify that.

It's a fairly standard ploy to build buzz, albeit taken to the extreme. Speaking of textbook buzz-making ploys, Ford is offering a new 2010 Mustang to whomever can come up with a great "Mustang Story" that doesn't involve buying a 2009 Mustang only to have the 2010 model come out a few weeks later. Full details in the release to enthusiasts below the jump.

Mustang enthusiasts,

The time has come to start talking about the new Mustang. But, we're not the ones that will be doing the talking!

We want to hear your stories, because we all have a story to tell about Mustang. What is yours?

<![CDATA[ 2010 Ford Mustang To Debut at LA Auto Show ]]> Earlier today, when Ford announced plans to counter its largest ever quarterly loss, we also learned the 2010 Ford Mustang would be revealed to pumping bass and epileptic-unfriendly lights at the 2008 LA Auto Show in November. We know the car arrives in showrooms early next year, and what's a new car without the lasers and dry ice of an auto show unveiling? But why LA and not Detroit?

Our sources tell us the reason the Giugiaro concept-based 'Stang is coming to LA is partly due to the lucrative convertible market represented by sunny California, but also because it offers Ford the opportunity to become the star of the show. Despite being located in the civilized world, LA is still eclipsed by Detroit's NAIAS, which sees a huge number of new models unveiled each year. By unveiling the Mustang in LA, Ford hopes to guarantee more coverage.

It also looks like we'll be getting three models at the unveiling, as described in Ford's press release:

• New Ford Mustang - coupe, convertible, and glass-roof models - in early 2009

No word on which engines we'll be seeing, but our fingers are firmly crossed for an Eco-Boost-equipped 300 HP 2010 Ford Mustang SVO.

<![CDATA[ 2010 Ford Mustang Leads Pony Parade At Road America ]]> A heavily camouflaged 2010 Ford Mustang took to the track on "Ford Mustang Day" during the Road America festivities this weekend in the land of cheese and onions called Wisconsin. Ford's calling it a special public "debut" of the 2010 Mustang, which served as the pace car for the vintage racing field during the weekend's races. We're told the leather and fishnets it's sporting are its "special 'camo' package." Special? Package? Here we thought it was just to keep Ford design secrets safe. Now Ford's got us hoping this "special package" will become an actual for-purchase package for the new muscular pony car. But we doubt that dream will ever become a reality. What is a reality is Ford's trying desperately to blunt the huge wave of press for the 2010 Chevy Camaro accidentally revealed on Friday. Oh yes, and also to blunt the somewhat smaller wave of press generated by our review of the 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8. We hope. OK, probably not.

Jalopnik Snap Judgement: Ford's going the same route as the 2009 Corvette ZR1 at Monterey, 2010 Jaguar XF-R and the 2009 Nissan GT-R at Goodwood with this "special" preview at the track. The only difference between the new Mustang and the rest of those "early preview" cars is the Mustang is a volume production car for Ford. That means, dropping it out at an event like this takes some measure of balls. We like balls on an automaker. However, we don't like over-processed "smooth" hip-hop when we're trying to hear engine noise. Just an FYI.

We've got the full press release below:

NEW 2010 FORD MUSTANG HITS TRACK DURING HISTORIC RACING WEEKEND AT ROAD AMERICA

* The new 2010 Ford Mustang, in camouflage, will pace the Wis. Ford is the sponsor of the Kohler International Challenge vintage race.
* Saturday is "Ford Mustang Day," meaning Mustang drivers and passengers can enjoy the festivities for free. This includes a dedicated "Mustang Corral" inside the front straightaway.

DEARBORN, Mich., July 17, 2008 - A sneak peek at the future Ford Mustang will help kick off the celebration of a historic Mustang racing win this weekend at Road America, the largest vintage car event in North America.

Enthusiasts will be part of a special public "debut" of the highly anticipated 2010 Ford Mustang, which will serve as the pace car for the vintage racing field throughout the weekend. The next-generation Mustang will be outfitted in a special "camo" package, keeping some key design cues secret until its reveal later this year.

The camouflaged future version of America's favorite muscle car will look right at home in Elkhart Lake, Wis., along with a 2009 Ford Mustang Bullitt and a 2009 Ford Fusion with a limited-edition "Blue Suede Package."

Saturday marks Ford Mustang Day at Road America featuring a "Mustang Corral" along the straightaway. Every Ford Mustang and its occupants will be admitted free on Saturday to the Kohler International Challenge presented by Ford.

"One of the key components of our program is to meet our customers face-to-face, and the Kohler International Challenge provides an excellent opportunity for Ford to interact with a group of dedicated, knowledgeable enthusiasts," said Robert Parker, Car Marketing manager, Ford Division. "Road America and the vintage weekend provides an opportunity for customers to get behind the wheel and for Ford to show off our new product line, while still highlighting the fact Ford has been involved in racing since the inception of our company more than a century ago."

While historic race cars will be gracing the famous race track, enthusiasts on hand also will be able to get behind the wheel of some of Ford's latest products at the Briggs & Stratton track located inside the Road America circuit. Ford will have the 2009 Flex, Escape, Edge, Fusion, Focus coupe and other vehicles available for consumers to test drive all weekend.

The 25th anniversary of the then-highly anticipated 1983 Mustang GTP debut and its rain-soaked maiden victory is the foundation forthe on-and off-track events.

The Mustang GTP car that won that day will be on display for the thousands of fans attending the event. The legendary car, an innovative racer that was the creation of Ford's then newly-formed Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), will be just a part of a significant Ford presence at the annual vintage event.

Also on hand during the weekend will be several Ford GTs, which will give hot laps on the legendary 4.048-mile Road America course. Fans can enter to win a Ford GT hot lap, which will be given away every hour, or laps can be purchased by making a $50 charitable donation to the Wisconsin Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the Vince Lombardi Titletown Champions foundation, which is raising money for youth sports programs.

The final component to the Ford Mustang celebration is on-track. Four Shelby Cobras will enter the Historic Grand Prix, and the Shelby drivers will wear vintage late 1960's racing attire. These Shelby entries mark the first time Shelby Automobiles has joined forces with Ford to race since 1968.

<![CDATA[ 2010 Ford Mustang Goes To The Airport: A Children's Story ]]>

The new 2010 Ford Mustang had heard all about Ford's plans to build vehicles down South. The new 2010 Ford Mustang really wanted to get out of Flat Rock, Michigan because the winters were so very cold. He wanted to roam an eternally sunny countryside where gas was cheap and subsidized.

So the Ford Mustang packed up his accessories from Shelby and Saleen and Roush, and drove off to Detroit's Metro Airport to catch a flight to Mexico. Except he forgot just one small thing — freight doesn't fly out of the McNamara terminal and he was too big to fly Northwest.

But the new 2010 Ford Mustang didn't know where freight flew out of. So he searched, and searched and searched, hoping to find out where he could find a plane big enough to take him.

The pretty new Ford Mustang even asked his friend the 2009 Corvette ZR1 powertrain mule, but he couldn't talk because he was in jail over some bad photos.

So the new Mustang sadly drove home to Flat Rock.

The end.

<![CDATA[ Who's The Boss: Ford To Axe Boss Engine In Mustang, Limit Use To Super-Duty? ]]> Buried beneath pickup truck news — by way of PickupTrucks.com and Automotive News — we're told Ford may be axing (or at least severely limiting) their program for the large displacement Boss V8 engine. These "Boss" engines, sources claim, were planned for the 2010 Ford Mustang and F-150's, and expected to go head-to-head with big-liter engines from Chrysler, GM and Toyota. According to the two outlets' internal Ford whisperers, the bigger engines may be being scrapped altogether. That means, potentially — in addition to the new Ford F-150 not getting a range of "Boss" V8s — the Mustang may lose out on the big, bold and bossy engine as well in favor of a smaller displacement V8. While our sources at Ford claim "it's hard to axe something that was never on the table to begin with," Ford's President of the Americas, Mark Fields tells a different story.

Fields claims, by way of PUTC, that

"we've made a significant investment in it (the Boss engine). The program is moving forward but with lower volumes and only one displacement (engine)."
It sounds to us like perhaps you can axe something that's not been on the table. [PickupTrucks.com, Automotive News (sub. req.)] ]]>

<![CDATA[ 2010 Ford Mustang GT Convertible Shows Off Why We Want A GT Spoiler Delete Option ]]> The rear end of the 2010 Ford Mustang GT has just been spotted (both literally and well, literally) by the intrepid spy photographers of KGP. This time, the shots reveal the pony car's badging, the new rear lights and and a revised lip spoiler. While we know Ford thinks the new 2010 Ford Mustang GT will have a lot of giddy up and go, we're thinking it probably won't be so fast it'll need that spoiler. We're just glad the 2009 model gives us the spoiler delete option, and we're hoping Ford provides a similar check box on the 2010 model. Nevertheless, we're glad the KGP photographers were quick enough to grab the new convertible in all of it's drunk Arizona State cheerleader-level of ass cleavage. And what do you think about those white retro-futuristic white reverse lights? Full spy report below the jump.

Spy Report

We caught a prototype for the 2010 Mustang Convertible with a large chunk of its rear camouflage removed, giving us our first uncovered look at the new 'Stang's tail-lights, rear spoiler, and it's revised rear badging.

The new Mustang's rear lamps have two vertical white bars breaking up the expanse of red found on the current models tail-lights. The new treatment does away with the segmented look of the current lights, for a slightly cleaner look. The internal bezels on the red lenses will also provide more dynamic, eye-catching lighting elements.

While current Mustang convertibles have a raised rear wing supported by two posts, the new 'Stang will get a smoother lip spoiler that extends directly from the top of the rear deck. The center-mounted brake light is also wider and slimmer than on the current car. The overall result appears be a cleaner, smoother, more refined look.

The final update we can see involves the large circular rear badge. The current badge has some notchy, retro detailing, while the prototype's badge displays smoother, more modern surface development.

<![CDATA[ 2010 Ford Mustang GT Interior ]]> If you've been enjoying the never-ending strip tease that is the 2010 Ford Mustang we've now got interior pictures of a black-on-black 2010 Ford Mustang GT prototype. Finally, thanks to the friendly neighborhood spy shooters at KGP who were quick enough to catch one parked, as opposed to driving full speed in the opposite direction. A quick comparison shows a revised steering wheel with new controls and white-faced gauges. And will wonders never cease — are those actually new air vents? Also, the tach and speedo appear to have swapped places on the latest iteration. Lastly, if you look at the car through the taut camo providing further proof that our 2010 Mustang sketch is spot on to what's actually there. Pictures and full spy report below the jump.

KGP's Spy Report

We managed to get our closest look yet inside Ford's reworked 2010 Mustang with these latest interior shots. It appears that the next Mustang's interior is a mix of carryover bits and some new elements. A new steering wheel maintains the current car's three "open-spoke" design, but the new wheel gets a double-stack of controls, with cruise control buttons on the left, and multimedia buttons on the right to operate the 'Stang's updated Sync interface.

It appears that the revised Mustang will maintain the current car's instrument pod, but this prototype shows new white-faced gages, and the speedometer and tachometer have switched places (the speedo's on the left, tach's on the right). The updated interior also gets new air vents, with slightly more upscale actuation. The current 'Stang's four round air vents have been changed on this prototype: a round vent remains to the left of the steering wheel, but two rectangular vents now reside at the top of the center stack.

Speaking of the center stack, we can't comment on the changes in store, due to the covering still in place over the controls. We'll keep peering inside of Mustang prototypes until we can see what lies behind. The rest of the interior appears to be very similar to the current car, but there are differences to the switchgear and design of the transmission tunnel.

This prototype also gave us a solid look at the new Mustang's headlight and tail-light designs.

<![CDATA[ 2010 Ford Mustang GT, Sketched With Sketchy Speculation ]]> Oh do we have a treat for any of you lovers of 'merican muscle cars today. We were talking with a Ford insider recently about the 2010 Ford Mustang. Specifically, discussion focused on the partially speculative rendering of the 2010 Mustang GT on the front of Car und Driver this month. More than one person had already told us a number of differences between the production model and the one featured on the cover of the big buff book, and our new source claimed the same thing. The difference between our other sources and this one was this one was willing to show us the money as it were. The shot below the jump is a sketch based on the final design of the next Mustang. We've mapped the differences out as well.

To begin with we're told the design of the side on the C&D sketch is incorrect. The door handle is too high. The official CAD renderings we've seen (don't even ask how we got those — all we can say is many Bothans died to bring us that information) — which verify the sketch provided by our source — indicate the door handle is actually part of the heavy crease running along the side of the new 'stang — and not above it.

The front fascia on the actual 2010 Mustang is also quite different. Our source's sketch — and again, the CAD models —indicates another piece of moulding between the black grille and the front bumper. Additionally, the C&D rendering is missing the turn signals which should be a flush addition to each side of the front bumper. The other minor issue is the double-gilled air vent on the bottom of the 'stang. The sketch — as well as other sources indicates they don't exist. Unfortunately, the area below the front bumper is where we're missing CAD modeling — so C&D very well may be correct on this.

And then there's the rear end — something untouched by the speculative renderers of Car und Driver — which from what we can see is a dramatic departure from the last model. If it turns out looking like this, we like it.

Yes, we could be wrong, and C&D could be too — but our money's on our sources coming through for us on this one. Time will tell wethinks. We're told we'll find out for certain at either the LA Auto Show or the Detroit Auto Show — we guess we'll have to wait until then. For now, answer us this question:

<![CDATA[ 2010 Ford Mustang Headlight Shines Light On Design Cues ]]>

For Mustang-loving fan boys, we're thinking the above first glimpse of the headlight design on the 2010 Ford Mustang is the equivalent of a celeb crotch-shot. So what can we tell from this new spy photo from KGP? Well, it looks like — well — like nothing Giugiaro made. Full report from the sneaky spies of KGP below.

We just caught our first uncovered look at the headlight design destined for the 2010 Mustang. Past prototypes have hinted at a little chrome trim residing behind the headlight camouflage, and now we can see what was truly lurking behind the disguise. While the overall grille layout still appears to take some inspiration from the Giugiaro Mustang concept, it's now clear that the headlights are going their own, retro way.

<![CDATA[ 2010 Ford Mustang To Get Turbo-Boosted 5.0-Liter V8? ]]> If you believe Bill Osborne, President of Ford Australia, the 2010 Ford Mustang will get the new 5.0-liter engine under the hood — potentially with some turbocharging or supercharging mixed in. He dropped the bomb on the kiwis over at Stuff.co.nz while talking about engine mixes on the next Ford Falcon. Here's what they say about what he said in order to limit that whole game o' telephone:

Beyond that Osborne confirmed a new 5.0-litre V8 to be developed and built in North America for the Ford Mustang was being examined for possible use in Ford's new Falcon.
"We have taken a look at [that V8] and it looks like it will be a pretty competitive engine, particularly if we decide to boost (turbocharge or supercharge) it as well," said Osborne.
So let's parse that. Sounds to us like he's confirming the 5.0-liter V8 engine in the 2010 Ford Mustang (or in actuality, the 2010 Ford Mustang GT), and as Ford continues to look at new opportunities for fuel economy savings as vehicle weight continues its steady upward crawl. Is it a smart strategy? Sure — as long as Ford does something about that rear axle. [Stuff.co.nz via Mustang Evolution via AutoBlog] ]]>

<![CDATA[ 2010 Mustang GT, Now With Hidden Subliminal Messages ]]> Brenda Priddy and her Merry Men have caught another couple shots of what appears to be the 2010 Ford Mustang GT out for a quick snowy stroll through Dearborn, MI. These new shots give us the best look yet we've had on the taillights of the new pony car from Ford and well, umm, they don't, umm, tell us all that much. Why'd we buy these shots again? Oh wait — now we remember why. It's because these shots do tell us the lengths to which Ford's willing to go to get our minds off of the latest muscle car reveal from Dodge — apparently it includes following the 'stang around with a train sporting the up-powered insignia (click on the pic to see) — just to make sure the spy photographers get it right. We kid the Dearborn-based automaker of course. We think we do anyway. Full spy report from Priddy below the jump and we'll add these spy photos of the 'stang to our collection below.

Yes .. I know what you're thinking (not more Mustang photos....), but take one look at the background. What are the odds - we caught the upcoming GT just as a train was passing by - with a huge "GT" painted on the blue (train) car. In addition - we've also caught the cleanest look at the new taillights that the 2010 Mustang will be wearing. Now if they'd only start stripping some of that camo..... <![CDATA[ 2010 Ford Mustang, All Leathered-Up With Some Chrome Peeking Out ]]> Oh look, it's more shots of what we're assuming will be the 2010 Ford Mustang. It's kind of hard to say really what it is what with all the camouflage, but we'll go with what spy maven Brenda Priddy tells us — especially because that engineer looks really unhappy he's having his picture taken. Yup, it's probably the newly-revised 'Stang. One thing's for sure — these shots do show a wee bit more detail than the last set of the next-generation Ford Mustang we ran last month and the 2010 Ford Mustang GT shots we ran last week. Is that some chrome we see peeking out from behind the leather bra and buckles? Oooh, we're totally getting excited for these Muscle Car Wars to be back on! Full spy report from "The Brenda" after the jump.

With news about the Camaro testing nearly nude - except for the previously painted-on black "tape" lines - focus now is on the still-secret 2010 Mustang.

Last month, one of our photographers caught a 2010 Mustang Convertible. Last week it was the GT Coupe. And now, one of our photographers caught yet another coupe - and although camouflaged - we have close-up photos to fuel the interest of all the enthusiasts.

Sources are telling us to expect a mid-cycle facelift for the 2010 model year, but by the looks of this heavily camouflaged prototype - the 2010 Mustang will be sporting an all-new front and rear fascia - including grille, headlamps and taillights! In addition, the interior will also be updated - although this prototype's interior - like the last one we saw - was pretty much covered up to conceal any and all changes.

Look for production on the revamped Pony car to begin in early 2009 - with sales starting sometime during the first quarter of the year.

<![CDATA[ 2010 Ford Mustang GT ]]> Jalopnik was the first site to bring you a test mule of the 2010 Mustang. Then, we were the first to bring you pictures of a heavily camouflaged 2010 Ford Mustang and now we're going up-powered. Today we're the first to bring you photos of what we're told is a heavily camouflaged and very much refreshed 2010 Ford Mustang GT. In fact, not only is it a GT, but it even looks like it's got GT500 wheels on this here test vehicle caugh testing on I-94 near Dearborn, MI — the home of Ford Motor Company. In addition, it's the home of the Greenfield Inn, the only Best Western in town painted pink (we're pretty sure that's not the only reason it's the home away from home of Zerin's team during the Detroit Auto Show). You know, for the kids. Full spy report on the new '10 'Stang after the jump along with a bigger shot atop the post. Of course, feel free to check out our full gallery below for even bigger, longer and more uncut shots.
UPDATE: Today's seen a fury of skirmishes in the Muscle Car Wars — not only did we see these Mustang GT shots, we also saw the first interior shots of the 2009 Chevy Camaro and then news GM wasn't going to bother putting camo on the Camaro anymore. What a day!

Last month, one of our photographers caught a 2010 Mustang Convertible, and now - another one of our sharp-shooters photographed what appears to be the 2010 GT (coupe).

In addition, the interior will also be updated - although this prototype's interior - like the last one we saw - was completely covered up to conceal any and all changes.

This cloaked prototype, with dual exhaust - appears to be the GT model. Without going into too much speculation - it appears to be sporting GT500 tires and wheels...
