@speedform: And, checking the photos, the one up there has a distributor plate.
I think these are dealer models. I remember that when I was with Lexus, we got two of the redesigned ISs about two months before Toyota actually shipped orders, to use as drivers. Probably the same deal here.
@Unregular: I agree. I wouldn't care if it goes from 0-60 in less than a millisecond and the only emissions it produces are rainbows and Bjs. I still wouldn't buy one on the principle fact of it being a Hyundai.
@FredTheGreat: That argument is complete bullshit, by the way.
Granted, if all you care about is perception and image then I totally see where you are coming from. Personally the thing I like about judging cars is thoroughly and carefully picking apart piece by piece exactly what car is good and why.
If you drove a Cavalier, would you flaunt it on the grounds that "at least it's not a Corolla?"
@Quattro-luvr: Or in England, I think it's three syllables and rhymes with "My Son Died"
For the past couple years I've been telling people to watch out for Hyundai on all fronts. They're really doing well. As I posted yesterday, their bread and butter car (Sonata) is up over 80% in sales vs January 08. Incredible.
@Ash78: My point was that Hyundai's ever-growing success may be pretty obvious to the people on this site, but most of the people I tell in person think I'm insane and are bored after about 5 seconds.
My dad is one of the pickiest car buyers I know and his recently experience with a Genesis sedan was that it was an $80k car for under $40k. He said apart from the Phaeton, he's never been so surprised by a car.

We get what we've been asking for, and you can't look past a funky rear window design.
Are you people in the habit of shunning hot, loose women because you don't like their shoes?

Its not horrible looking, but the lines are just awkward. Like under the side windows. You have a straight line then this weird curve. What is that?

I'd abuse the hell out of a Genesis coupe though.
