Whoever wrote this is just a bit too much fanboy for me. I love Fords, but this isn't journalism. It's a guy with a word processor bending over and spreading wide for the Ford flacks.

It seems to me that Ford spent a shitload of time and money on design development only to choose a pumped-up standard Mustang design in the end. looks like one more example of mismanagement to my eyes.

First, news that the Fast & Furious car people were actually 'car people', then nearly a whole page of Mustang comments without rants about the Modular V8 or the solid rear axle.

I've apparently stepped into an alternate universe and it appears to be good. I'm gonna go outside and see if there's an Exige in my parking space.

My brand loyalty might actually force me to buy a mustang. I know, I know, the new Camaro is more powerful and better looking, and even the Genesis Coupe is cheaper and probably just as quick...but...I want Ford to survive more than anything, and I guess that's a little more important than which car gets me from A to B everyday.

I guess I just have to take the bullet and hope Ford survives...you know...to service my Mustang when it breaks down.

@wrx-tyrannosaurusWrx: don't be surprised if you're leaving the Genesis coupes behind very easily with a plain jane GT. Wait another model year and you'll equal the Camaro with a smaller, 32 valve engine & get better mileage.

If, however, you somehow want to set segment records at the Nurburgring with a bone stock automobile, the Mustang might not be the way to go.

@Parramore64: Oh, I know all about the 5.0 (I'm not positive on that, but almost) "Coyote" engine coming out, and wouldn't really have the funds to buy until then anyway, so its no big deal. My point is that there all relatively (subjective) similar cars and I just might have to take the hit of buying the most outdated one to help Ford survive.

That top red one has a nice look. Kind of like a cross between a Lamborghini Jalpa and a GT-40.

@leavethegun-takethecannoli: I agreee. I'm a bit of a fanboy...OK, a lot of a fanboy...but I am digging the new design. Its different enough from the '05 design to notice, but it still has the retro-inspired lines. I think with the new front end it has a bit more agression to it, too.

Sadly, most of these will be modified beyond all recognition.

How Ford created an ill handling sloppy mess of a car that has a penchant for breaking down at the worst possible moment.

@jduffy13: I'm gonna argue and say that handling is as expected from a live axle however, after years of ownership of a Mustang GT, I've had very little problems. Certainly, much less than my Camaro. As always, one story is never indicative of quality.
