    This AMG appearance package is the perfect mirror of the drivers who buy it. A man who is rich enough to actually afford the AMG, will buy it. The man who can't afford it, and doesn't have an image problem will just get the non-AMG. This is for a special breed. This is for the Posers. They are the ones who buy cars like this when their $600,000 house is being foreclosed because they bought it with their AMEX. They are the ones who buy an iPhone and don't know how to use the internet on it. They'll buy the Benz that looks great, but costs less. Like the regular S-class is a whiskey drinkers car, the Jagerbomb drinkers now have a car for themselves.

    As an owner of a 2008 S Class sedan, I have to say that I did not purchase my house with my amex. but I would buy this package solely for the looks, believe it or not there are people out there that like the way certain performance packages look. and also, if I owned an AMG S Class, I would probably not have a license at the moment, if my car can haul ass...imagine what an extra 150 horses could do...

    @vdiddy210: What S-Class do you have? The reason this is bad, all looks, no go. I personally drive a C63. My father has the S600. I love Benzes, but this is just not my thing.

    My "principles" (I have those, I swear) direct me toward hating AMG-sport, S-line, and M-sport trimmings because they add all show and no go.


    Velour floormats have the ability to change my mind about anything.

    @Syrax: It doesn't really scream at me in the same way. When I hear "velour" I immediately think of the Austin Princess and the black heart of Disco Malaise. It's making a comeback, I tell you what!

    I hate these appearance packages. Don't get me wrong, they look nice, but why?


    I'd rather not have the appearance at all, but the substance of the AMG monster-mill.

    The sad, sad part is that the opposite trend--stealth--is all but dead, at least in the US. I very rarely see debadged cars here, but it seems like they're very common in Europe and the UK. Maybe I'm just a freak who doesn't like attracting bad attention (cops, racers, etc).

    @c0de DEMANDS layabout's return: I'll admit, it is a poorly constructed sentence. I was merely mocking a post from yesterday in which somebody put "+1 me if you agree." I found that quite funny, and yet, annoying at the same time.

    Anyways, everyone I talk to that has a Prius is "in the middle of an engine swap." Everyone is always talking about what kind of supercharged, or turbocharged, mill they are throwing in, usually V8s. Is the Prius the new Integra or what?

    I'd have to say that stealth lives in the new Taurus SHO. A small rear spoiler and an easily removable two inch badge on the c pillar. Best stealth since the 5.0 LM Mustangs.

    @Tiberiuswise - sarcasm free since April 15, 2009.: Very possibly...doesn't it have cartoonish 19" rims, though? (probably not saying much if the base model is sporting 18"...)


    And probably dual/quad exhaust tips, which is the norm these days. Are we up to six exhaust tips yet? Someone needs to make that happen.

    @leavethegun-takethecannoli: I just hope I'm able to carry mine out before it becomes the One New Thing. My "personal outlook" isn't so good for that, if it catches on at all within the next five years.


    Until then I'm not debadging--I'm rebadging! Need HEMI badges for the fenders to complement the "Yeah, it's got a HEMI" sticker on the back.
