Does GM still make the Safari/Astro? Because that sucker got an abysmal frontal crash rating. Almost as bad as the Toyota Previa, which was a veritable death trap in a frontal accident (that's a big reason why the Sienna was born). And nobody ever called the Previa the most dangerous car in America.

In the 5 years I owned it (during which I only put ~45k miles on it), I had the sensor that makes the check engine light work fail, the entire gauge cluster stop working, the transmission controller fail, and the air bag light would come on every time it rained.

(This car is the primary reason behind her ex status.)

one of the ugliest cars in recent history.

At least the Eos is a decent replacement.

Speaking of rentals, I would rather have a PT Cruiser than an Aveo (like I stated above), the US Focus, the Caliber, the G6, The Sebring (or Avenger), The Cobalt, or even the base Fusion. These seem to be the only cars available at the price I'm willing to pay for a rental car. I have rented an Elantra (OK) a Spectra (again OK), a Versa (actually my favorite small car), and a Vibe (the damn thing drones on and on).

But you know, its not the fault of the consumers who choosing to purchase forign stuff for sending jobs overseas but the evil CEOs and their baby eating pocket padding agendas. at least the guy behind the counter of the coffee shop will now talk to you and your VW.

I'd buy American...I'm just waiting for them to make something like the Fit, Mazda3, Prius, etc., yet at a reasonable price. Focus, Cobalts, Nitros for the same cost or more just doesn't do it for me.

...oh.
Well, the...
...fuck.
Why not move up to a Fusion or Malibu? Those are good.

Contrary to the Import Humping crowd here, it is a great car. I own the GT with a stick and it flies, handles, etc. There is a tuner crowd that mods them. They have their own website called PTcrew.com.
I have modded mine. I can do the quarter in the low fourteens..and I bought it for 14K with 22,000 on the OD.

Still beats the Caliber, though. Good Lord.

And here I thought the only appeal to them was that you could get one with 15,000 miles on it for $8500.

Oh, right, it's the same thing.

I've been in one accident, got slammed on the back right tire...
Car actually did pretty damn well. I received no injuries.
No idea what happened to these 09 models. Maybe they are made out of the crushed dreams of GM employees.

I'm pretty sure I have the safest house on my block--it takes 10 minutes to burn down instead of 7 or 8. I discovered this after spending $20k on fireproofing materials, which made me feel a whole lot better about using all those kerosene space heaters, leaving the dryer on while I was out shopping, and smoking in bed.
Yup, I'm a lucky man.

North American Ford Focus. The car for those who take it in the rear.
I have always suspected that this was the case.
