    It looks too much like a Tiburon to really distinguish itself. I thought Hyundai was starting to make some progress with this new Genesis line, but from a design perspective this is just another crappy looking Hyundai.

    Also: based on what I see on the spring rates, they tuned this version to be more tail-waggy (stiffer rear springs).

    Man, some days I love being an engineer.


    A quick glance over the lead pic to make sure there's no non-functional hood nostrils (stupid Pontiac...), and it's on to the drivetrain and suspension stats in the press release.


    Silly window kink? Can't see it while I'm driving, so I don't care (again: hood nostrils).


    I really want a new Camaro, but there's a good chance this'll end up getting my monies. It would definitely come down to how each drives.

    You know, I'd like to buy one of these, but why the hell does this car weigh 3300lbs (maybe 3200 for the R-spec, although the base model 2.0T is 3294 and seems to have even less equipment)?


    My first gen Eclipse was lighter, and it had AWD, two limited slip diffs and an extra pair of drive axles. Granted, it didn't have ABS, EBD, 6 airbags, 4-pot Brembos w/13" rotors or R-Spec badging and had shitty weight distribution, but still.


    It's even heavier than the new 370Z, which Nissan has listed as 3232 lbs. This car should be under 3000 lbs with the turbo 4. Maybe it doesn't attract door dings like Hondas?

    the more i read the more angry i get. they kept the radio and ipod connection? nothing says a driver focused cabin like a usb stick...

    I can see styling cues from the last Celica & the 370Z,it looks pretty good for a Hyundai. Yet i know when it goes on sale it wont interest me & after seeing a couple on the streets it'll just blur into other run of the mill cars.

    To further reduce cost and weight, it also eliminates some non-essential convenience equipment such as: Bluetooth®, automatic headlights, cruise control, trip computer, chrome interior accents and steering wheel audio controls.


    Wow, all that must save at least a pound.
