I'll stick with the hardtop... BUT GIVE US THE DAMN DIESEL ALREADY, in something, i don't care at this point... just pop the fuckin diesel cherry on any of your beautiful current models! Give us hope!

The Audis will have a much better resale value, and the S4 Avant wins the practicality argument, but the G8 GXP wins the value argument, and it has a lovely, burbling, small-black V8. My choice would be clear, but I look forward to hearing what you eventually choose.

I prefer ragtops, as well. A convertible is an image car, and if you are going to do a convertible, then dammit, do it right and make it look good. The only decent looking hardtop convertible I have seen is the new Ferrari California.

Eh, I liked it in person. Different tastes, I guess. The one thing that we do seem to agree upon, however, is that a good and proper softtop convertible beats a hardtop convertible any day.

I know it is kind of a chick car, but I like their A3 convertible as well:
I think that it is one of the nicest-looking small convertibles I have ever seen. What can I say, we all have a guilty pleasure or two.

Why are images not working properly today?
Trying this again:
Hmm. Perhaps we are having hamster issues of some sort.
Screw it, you look at the picture for yourselves. The link is below.

It is definitely a non-US model, sadly for us. Otherwise, my girlfriend would look great in a white one, and she even has family who would buy it for her.
As far as the Audi nomenclature goes, I think that that is to be the case. Further evidence to support that would be the upcoming A7, which they classify as a coupe, despite it being a four-door. But, then, they said the same for BMW not too long ago, and that went nowhere.

Ah. That would certainly explain it. Forgive me, as I am not particularly tech saavy, particularly for someone may age.

leather-faced middle-aged divorced women. Ouch.
All the more reason to send them across the Pond, where they will promptly become a favorite for spoiled high school cheerleaders. But, hey, at least they'll look good in them.
It'll be interesting to see if the BMW 1-series convertible carves out a respectable niche over here in the States. If it does, then perhaps Audi will change its mind and import the cabriolet.
Are they available in AWD or FWD only?
Thanks for posting the pic, by the way.

The A5/S5 convertible is the middle age golfer or a pretty/rich college boy car. Once again, I have no desire to wear plaid pants/pink polos, and although I did graduate with a degree in higher education, this still does not fit me.
I do have to admit that it looks nice, but I will never own one. Still going to be making payments on my R32 for a while.

@pauljones: Ragtop fwd only so far, also cheerleaders>middle aged leather faced divorcee's so America wins. ;)

Thank the lord that Audi is still somewhat sane and has brought forward and attractive softtop convertible.
