2009 ROUSH Mustang Blackjack: First Drive
Driving the 2010 Ford Mustang GT, we discovered it was basically a tuner version of the old model. So how does the latest ROUSH Mustang Blackjack stack up to the factory version? Let's find out. -

2009 Roush P-51B Mustang Dogfights Its Way Into Your Heart
The 2009 Roush P-51B Mustang, an aviation-themed screamer of a pony, is the newest custom to emerge from the secretive skunkworks of Jack Roush's Detroit shop. Only 51 of these bad lads will be tearing up the streets with their 510 HP and matching torque thanks to a bounty of tasty engine goods and a BFS (Big Fookin' Supercharger). The whole lot has been tweaked and tugged, including sinister black chrome wheels, a Juggernaut-approved braking system and a slathering of Olive Drab accents. More about the gritty technical specs below. More » -

Ford Readies Mustang Cobra Jet Drag Race Package
Having had some time behind the wheel of a tamer drag Mustang we're floored at the idea of the Cobra Jet Mustang drag package, seen here chewing up the quarter-mile at the Milan Dragway in Michigan. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's another special edition Mustang. But this umpteenth pony variation appears to be a purpose-built drag racing 'Stang powered by the "cobra jet" variation of the 5.4-liter V8 found in the Shelby GT500KR. Further details are lacking, but those tiny tires on the front should indicate the sole purpose of this Mustang. More » -

Roush Mustang Stage 3 Suspension, Now Sold Separately
Good news for 2003 through 2009 Ford Mustang owners that don't want to throw down $21,000 on a complete Roush Stage 3 kit: The suspension alone is now available separately for just $1,449, meaning it's now affordable to make your 'Stang handle. The complete kit is a direct replacement for the spongy stock suspension, lowers the car 1", and includes springs, dampers, jounce bumpers and anti-roll bars. Full details follow the jump. More » -

Ford Spends Time Making AV8R Mustang, Loses $8.7 Billion... Just Saying
Ford has released specs and images for its one-off Mustang AV8R, complete with silver paint and cues said to be borrowed from the P-51 Mustang fighter. The AV8R also includes pieces from the Bullitt, as well as a Ford Racing supercharger and other go-fast bits good enough for 400 horsepower. While we know the AV8R isn't the direct cause of the company's $8.7 billion second-quarter loss, we can't help but notice that it's the European Fords set to save the company, rather than something designed by the apparently preoccupied American engineers. The AV8R goes up for auction at the end of this month, but they promise the money won't be used to bail-out Ford. Press release below the jump. More » -

2009 Ford Mustang Limited To Only 45,000 Units, Why Not Just 2009?
If you're crazy enough about Ford's muscle car that you actually want a 2009 Mustang, as opposed to waiting for the brand new 2010 Ford Mustang, you'll have to fight over just 45,000 of them. If that seems like a lot, we'd remind you that they sold more than 130,000 Stangs last year. Why is this happening? It could be the obvious numerological significance of the number 45 since it is the 45th anniversary of the Mustang, but we doubt it. More » -

2009 Ford Mustang 45th Anniversary Edition, Revealed Uninspiringly
Turns out when we posted a photo of the 2009 Ford Mustang badge it rung a bell with Jaloper James Kenney, who has a quick eye and an even quicker shutter. This 45th Anniversary Edition 2009 Ford Mustang was sitting in the driveway in a neighborhood (should have put it in the garage). Clearly, Ford is answering our question about the Mustang's relevance with this fine vehicle. Notice those deluxe cloth seats and, if we're not mistaken, this vehicle is equipped with a whole six mighty cylinders (45 years of progress!). There is one detail that sort of jumps out at us, though.

2009 Ford Mustang Badge, Revealed!
Holy cow, OMG, WTF — it's a real, live badge for the 2009 Ford Mustang! OK, we'll stop with the exclamations now. But why wouldn't we be excited — it's the 45th anniversary of the Mustang and, and, and — OK, we can't really figure out why we should be excited. Especially given we'll see an entirely new Ford Mustang less than one year later for the 2010 model year. Whatever, we salute Ford for 45 years of pony cars. At least they kept going with the muscular muscle cars even when no other 'merican automaker would. That took some guts — and we'll give 'em credit for that. However we'll still poke 'em for that big truck axle in the rear end. Speaking of credit, we're also going to give some credit to Mustang Evolution for pokin' fun at Ford with a snarky little comment on the new 'stangs looking a little thick around the waist. Way to be, guys! [Mustang Evolution]

Will The 2009 Ford Mustang Go To Mach 1... Or Just Be The Boss?
