”Nissan GT-R Crashed In The USA
Godzilla, or the new Nissan GT-R as some call it, has only just started stomping around our shores, already we've got our first report of a GT-R smashed up somewhere stateside. Details are vague (some say the GT-R got into some fisticuffs with a Corvette ZR1 in a dark alley) but it's clear the incident wasn't exactly a minor fender-bender. The forum fanboys at MyGTR think it may have had something to do with the GT-R being driven into a pizza parlor, so maybe it was trying to take out a Ferrari or something. Geez, whatever happened to fighting it out on the Nürburgring?More »
Nissan GT-R Transformers Toy Poses Next To Real Nissan GT-R
When we first heard of the Nissan GT-R Transformers toy, it was still a colorless prototype. Now we see what it looks like in all its hopefully lead-free paint. They've even found a real Nissan GT-R to pose next to it. Maybe it's actually the full-scale model ready to do battle with the GM Autobots? Okay, obviously not, but it's too bad we wont be seeing this GT-R up on the big screen in the upcoming Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen. These shots were taken at the 2008 Chara Hobby show in Chiba, Japan. The Tomy Takara toy should be going into production in the next few months, but getting your hands on one over here in the US may take a little longer.[via GT-R Blog]
Wald Nissan GT-R Body Kit Surprises By Being Aesthetically Pleasing
With legions of tuning shops in a furious race to leave no Nissan GT-R unmodified, the latest kit unveiled by Wald is a salvo against obnoxiousness. The fellows behind the Nissan GT-R GT500 have fired up the autoclaves and delivered body parts that accentuate the bumps and curves of the standard GT-R, rather than the ego of the driver. Available are fender flares, side skirts, a front fascia, rear fascia with built-in diffuser, rear wing add-on and chin spoiler. We expect forum fanboys to call it boring, but we think it looks pretty tasteful.[World Car Fans]
Tokyo Dream Boats
They said it couldn't be done. They said compiling a list of ten gorgeous Japanese cars currently for sale was a fool's errand. What they didn't know was that in Japan the cars aren't designed to be as purposeful and uncharismatic as many of their American offerings. In fact, half of the cars on the list are not sold in the United States. And while no cars from the land of the rising sun made it onto our Ten Most Beautiful Cars list, it was easier than we thought to find these ten most gorgeous Japanese cars.

What Do You Drive To The 24 Hours Of LeMons?
You'd figure the folks who like to race disintegrating $500 clunkers would drive some decent machinery, and you'd be right! UDMan found some Jalopworthy steel parked around the pits:Since this is a race of $500 race cars, it is quite interesting to see some of the cars sprinkled throughout the pits. What’s this, a brand new GT-R, dressed in this years most popular color, Gray. Oh, and look at that beautiful white 911, an edition I’m unfamiliar with, A BMW 6 Series (with a 5 series M stable mate), an Evolution, and a Mazdaspeed 3? Well, the last two seem to be the Jalopnik staple of cars almost everyone would like to own, so why not. Feast your eyes.
The Stig Blogs About The Nissan GT-R
The guys at Top Gear Magazine are doing a comparison test of supercars on the Isle of Man, and while they're at it they've been blogging their driving impressions. That's all well and good, but when it came time for everyone's favorite anonymous racing driver, The Stig, to tell us all what he thinks of the Nissan GT-R, there seemed to be something lost in translation. According to the Frenchies at Le Blog Auto, the Nissan GT-R Spec-V has allegedly been delayed and is now expected to debut as late as next year. But rumors are also swirling of a new GT-R variant to be launched in the meantime. Although it's not to be confused as a Mitsubishi, some are throwing around a name of "Evolution" for this NISMO-tuned GT-R. Although we like the sound of NISMO goodies, can we really believe that'll be the name? More importantly, what else can we expect? More »Nissan GT-R Transformers Toy Turns Godzilla Into Killer Robot
The Nissan GT-R may be known as Godzilla, but Japanese toymaker Takara-Tomy sees the supercar more as a super robot. Don't get too excited: This 1/32 scale model doesn't mean you'll be seeing the GT-R on the big screen in Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen. Nope, this is just a toy, for now at least. But you'll at least be able to take one home in either red or black when they hit the shelves in November. [via CarScoop]2010 Nissan GT-R Spec V Gets 520 HP, Drops 200 Pounds
Details about the 2010 Nissan GT-R Spec V, the GT-R's err "performance variant," have leaked out. Japanese magazine CarTop is speculating that Infiniti could be developing a new range-topping sedan based on the 2009 Nissan GT-R. Allegedly, the sedan could go on sale as early as 2011. But how similar would it really be to Godzilla? And what should we call Godzilla with two extra doors anyhow? More »Top Gear Crashes Nissan GT-R
Top Gear Magazine was recently having some fun on the Isle of Man with a Nissan GT-R, but the playtime ended unexpectedly when the driver of the GT-R slammed on the brakes. That would be fine in any normal car, but Godzilla came to a halt so abruptly that the Audi behind it just couldn't stop quickly enough. [GT-R Blog] Update: The guys at CarTribe say this is indeed the same GT-R that the Stig had out on the Top Gear test track. We also know that the black beast (the only GT-R officially imported by Nissan UK so far) was quickly repaired and is now back to normal, as can be vouched for by anyone who saw it run at the Goodwood Festival of Speed just a few days after the accident.
