    Resolutely badass, This complicates my day, now I have to spend time on Google Earth finding the abandoned airfield, finding out who owns it and making an offer..then I can get back to my previously scheduled, now considerably more mundane feeling, life. Gotta love that brush with the jet blast wall, collateral damage.....

    @Evil_Genius: It's the former El Toro Marine base in Irvine, CA. IIRC it's now owned by the city and slated to be turned into a giant park (and no, not the kind designed for speed and hoonage).

    God... this just reminds me that it's been way too friggin long since I've done an old fashioned donut. I need to smell some tire smoke.


    Hmm, I think the old worn out wheels and tires from my girlfriend's Escape will fit on the back of my LTD....

    Just as a side note, that is quite possibly the best sounding 4 cylinder engine I've ever heard. The exact opposite of the numerous "fart can" equipped cars that still plague our roads.

    @16X4ME: There's a guy down the street from me with a black WRX (first gen) and some tasteful mods--coilovers, wheels, exhaust. It's clearly a 4-banger and I can recognize it from 200 yards away, but it sounds great compared to the Civics with the similar treatment.

    @16X4ME: The flat 4 boxer engine has a very ditinctive sound,quite different to "normal" 4 cylinder engines. [en.wikipedia.org]
