Of course, I apparently only manage to own cars that are mostly driven by dangerous-to-themselves-and-others... retards. The base-model Impreza I had previously was also relatively expensive to insure (and rates on WRXs and STis are horrifying).
Interestingly, you do not want to insure a gray-market car, either. My girlfriend probably pays 50% more than she should be just because her Intrepid was sold in Canada, rather than the US. Apparently, the fact that the badges read "Chrysler" rather than "Dodge" puts her in a higher risk category.

I really have no idea if that is factually accurate, but kinda makes sense, except for the fact that you'd think they would base the number of claims made on that type of car off of a per-capita figure rather than just the number of claims with no calculated context... whatev...
